I think that the 2025 inductees will be:

Phil Collins, Cyndi Lauper, Luther Vandross, Mariah Carey, OutKast, Roberta Flack, Soundgarden, Coldplay

As much as I love Styx, I just don't think that they're HOF-worthy, I think that there are other Classic Rock acts that are far more deserving of a nomination and an induction than Styx at this point like Bad Company, Jethro Tull, Boston and The Guess Who, so for that reason, I just don't see Styx ever getting nominated (let alone being inducted) IMO. so please swap out Styx with another act in your predictions for the 2025 nominees because of that.

My guess for old school rnb nominee in 2025 is Luther Vandross.

Recently he has a resurgence in acclaim and I feel many people want to honour him now. His historical importance is appreciated more recently. He has lots of buzz in recent years.

Also, after Dionne Warwick, I think Roberta Flack will be honored in that line. She is more acclaimed than Patti Labelle (She has Grammy Lifetime Achievement award but Patti does not). So I think she will be nominated soon. If not next year, I assume she will be nominated in 2027 when she will be 90 years old assuming she is still alive at that time, similar with Willie Nelson.

What do you think?

Again I don't think they're at the front of the line but I can see them jumping some acts.

because I think that Mariah will get the Radiohead treatment and she'll get in on her second try just like Radiohead did, She's just too big of a name to get passed over twice, so I really think that it's going to be her year next year, As well as it should be. besides there is a 3-year pattern for Mariah getting special Lifetime Achievement Awards:

2019: Billboard Icon Award
2022: Songwriters Hall of Fame
2025: Rock Hall?

and next year is also the 40th anniversary as well, so I just don't see Mariah getting passed over twice, I really think that next year is going to be her year, As well as it should be and she'll get in on her second try just like Radiohead did.

Oddly KC&ssb had a fair amount of critical respect as well at the time.

If you ever watch a show looking back on the 70s be it that 70s show or the Simpsons or some kids show, KC and the Sunshine band are often in the soundtrack for good and bad reasons. They're a punchline but so was Kool and the gang and they rode general cultural icon status to an induction regardless of being taken seriously....unlike war.

Disney is gonna chop it up to feed the viewers the most easily watchable parts, and the fact that the RRHOF, whether you agree with their methods or not, is finally trying to right all the wrongs of both acts nommed and snubbed for years and a couple acts who might not get their due for their contributions to the field. With a pay cable broadcast, they can get away with running as long as it needs, and for those who want a deeper and more meaningful and proper tribute for all the acts.

That being said, it's gonna be near impossible any conceivable way to satisfy everyone who has a stake in this year's show

They proved to be way more than just a "hairband" album after album, these guys are super talented. Some of their best songs were ones never even played on radio. I can listen to any of their music right now 35 years later & its still on my all time best list! I'd definitely say they're better than half the crap hall of fame has inducted to date. Bill G,,

"I greatly respect your logic. you want him in solo cause you like him. right on."

No, Will, I think that JERRY BUTLER should be inducted TWICE..because he DESERVES IT.
Most people today don't realize that it was Jerry Butler , not Curtis Mayfield , that was the Original lead singer of THE IMPRESSIONS. He led on the group's first million-seller, "FOR YOUR PRECIOUS LOVE."

But, AFTER leaving the Impressions, Jerry went on to have some 55 Pop and R&B Chart hits as a SOLO Artist…a number that many inducted artists can't match .

Here's what Wikipedia says about Jerry:

" Since his 1991 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Impressions, music writers and critics have stated that Butler also deserves a second induction as a solo artist, based upon his successful career as a recording artist and songwriter after leaving that group."
Some of his solo hit tunes included : HE WILL BREAK YOUR HEART, (Top 10 );ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE (TOP 10) , LET IT BE ME (with Betty Everett) (TOP 10), "MAKE IT EASY ON YOURSELF (TOP 20),
"WESTERN UNION MAN" (TOP 20), "MOON RIVER" (#11),"NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP" (TOP 20),
"WHAT'S THE USE OF BREAKING UP" (TOP 20), and numerous other hits. Check Wikipedia to learn more.
His hit-filled albums "THE ICEMAN COMETH" and "ICE ON ICE," produced by the legendary Rock Hall-inducted duo, Gamble and Huff, are required listing for anyone who enjoys great Soul music, and Jerry himself is an accomplished songwriter who wrote or co-wrote many hit tunes …including
Otis Redding's first big hit, "I'VE BEEN LOVING YOU TOO LONG (TO STOP NOW.)"
Jerry has also been inducted into the Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame.

Yes, JERRY BUTLER definitely deserves a SECOND INDUCTION AS A SOLO ARTIST.
