Glen Campbell should be in the RRHoF. His musicianship is second to none. As an interpreter, arranger and singer of songs there is nobody better. Quite simply he belongs in the RRHoF and it's a disgrace that he hasn't been in for a long, long time.

Watched 'I'll Be Me' the other night on Netflix. If you're a fan or if you're not that familiar with Campbell, this is a must-watch. The film is a straight-up tribute to Campbell's career (features old videos of home movies and TV performances), his last tour and last studio recording as well as throwing in his efforts to raise Alzheimer's awareness in Washington.

I only knew a few of his hits, and I knew he did a lot of side work, most notably for the Beach Boys. It then occurred to me: why the hell isn't he in the RRHOF?! At least he's in the Country Music Hall of Fame. Another reason for the Rock Hall to be not taken seriously.

Why isn't Glen Campbell in the RRHOF?? It doesn't make any sense to me. He has certainly shown his eligibility so what is the problem? Wake up "powers that be" - half the people in this group got their inspiration from Glen - what does it take to get him inducted. He should have been inducted before he got so far into the throws of Alzheimer's - he deserves the honor!!

RIP Glen Campbell; it's a damn shame you have not already been inducted into the Rock Hall yet. One of the few crossover successes in both the pop/rock and country genres, he won Grammys in both country and pop categories at the 1967 ceremony. He wrote, collaborated and produced so many classics. "Witchita Lineman" is, IMO, one of the ten pop songs ever recorded. He would be an excellent candidate for the Sidemen or Musical Excellence categories.

He should be in the HOF via the Musical Excellence category along with the other members of The Wrecking Crew who have not yet gone in.

I see no need to induct most country music acts, unless they had direct impacts and influence on Rock N Roll (that's why Johnny Cash was inducted); or in cases where the lines are pretty blurred - most genres are as much about marketing as it is about the musical intentions of the artists after all. Country as a genre precedes Rock N Roll and has its own very well established HOF.

But much as I have little interest in the easy listening pop-tinged country ballads that Campbell became famous for - he absolutely belongs in the Rock HOF for his studio work because of all the hugely successful Pop and Rock recordings he played guitar on.

The fact that ‘Wichita Lineman’ had been featured during the “In Memoriam” section of the 2018 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony may be indicative of a possible future posthumous nomination for the late Glen Campbell. With regards to my most favorite song performed by Glen Campbell, it would probably be ‘Wichita Lineman’ followed closely by Glen’s version of Mason Williams progressive pop instrumental masterpiece ‘Classical Gas’ featuring a symphony orchestra.
