Sounds way too much like Led Zeppelin.

They’re already in the HOF if one of you kids are reading this comment and browsing around here; they were called Led Zeppelin.

They have time to grow, but like them or not they’re a vital part in the resurgence of rock into a mainstream audience.

@ Hobby

I dunno, I don’t think GVF - and other fanservice bands - will make rock music popular again in the mainstream. Hell, I think it’s the right time for another rock revolution to happen; a big wave of bands with uniqueness and innovations. We now live in era where the genre has been completely marginalized by the media and major labels. I guess it’ll become bigger than it was before as a niche genre.

I say that because they’re getting the most attention as of recently. I wish they weren’t, but they are.

But hey maybe Pitchfork did something to that hype lmao. Their debut album is still doing pretty damn well against the others. It places high on iTunes Charts even after all this time.

And don’t forget: everyone hates Led Zeppelin back in the 70s. It’s certainly possible for Greta to turn the tide and pull something truly mind blowing.

Very talented but lacks the originality when compared to other rock bands of today, almost a Led Zeppelin reboot that won't change the landscape of music looking forward to the future and probably won't be considered influential. Like I said insanely talented and they deserve their success, but the problem is they are the biggest among younger millennials and gen z I feel I talk to more friend's dads who know them than their actual child, which isn't bad an audience is an audience and that's hard enough to establish, I might be wrong but if they don't change it up and continue on their current trajectory they won't make it into the Hall of Fame.

Led Zeppelin were a long time ago. For the younger generation listening to rock music today Greta Van Fleet sound new & exciting because they are unfamiliar with Led Zeppelin and classic rock.

For me personally, if GVF can evolve beyond a sound-a-like imitation, then yes, absolutely.

They received quite an endorsement. Look up the entry for Rush in the actual R&R HoF website, www.rockhall.com . It has a video of a talk given by Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson. One of the last questions was about what music has recently got their attention; Lee said he doesn't listen to much current stuff, but Lifeson talked at length about how impressed he was with GvF.

I'm really burned out on Led Zeppelin, which was all I listened to in high school in the 90s. I will say, in my opinion, Greta van Fleet seems to offer something fresh and invigorating to the classic rock sound. But full disclosure, my favorite bands are the Strokes, White Stripes, and the (perennial neglected for the hall) Pixies, so you can take that however you will.

Went to see them perform in Toronto, Canada. The best concert I've been to, by far. What an experience. The way they can throw a show is amazing. Love their music, this group is an ICON! Absolutely worthy of being in the HOF. They have surely developed through their 3 albums, getting the attention they deserve. BRING ROCK BACK

people want new rock music and get mad when it sounds like another band. gvf has a different style than Led Zeppelin, especially their newer albums. their stage presence is a completely different experience as well. people are so close minded

I seriously doubt that they will ever get inducted, let alone be nominated. They're so divisive because they're seen as a Led Zeppelin rip-off band with no originality that makes them stand out from the crowd.

If they don't get inducted, nobody will.
Rhythm section is still under 25 years of age and they have alreayd surpassed a Gazillion of other American bands.
