Personally, I consider this to be the worst year for new picks between now and 2030. I know Missy Elliott is in the Rock Hall Projected, but I have serious doubts regarding her likelihood. Also, this is the only year from 2014 to 2024 that doesn't have at least one slam dunk lock. Sigur Rós certainly deserves it on sheer quality alone, but many other avant-garde artists need to get in and pave the way before they are really on the Hall's radar.

I think Neko Case and possibly Of Montreal might stand a chance eventually, depending on the makeup and scope of the NomCom at that point, but otherwise I agree, Paul K, pretty dry year.

Pretty weak year, true. Not 1st year or next several after that, but Third Eye Blind might have a shot, if they can put out 2 or 3 more really good albums.

Sigur Ros & Missy Elliot seem to be the 'stars' of this class. Be a good catch-up year for the Hall.

All Saints should also be there. I know that they won't be inducted but their debut album of the same name sold like 30 million copies worldwide. Never Ever and Pure Shores is two of the groups' most successful and recognized songs in their discography. It's a shame that Natalie, Nicole, Shaznay and Melanie didn't get the love they deserved in America. But hey there's a 50/50 chance.

I do believe names like The Carpenters, The Monkees , and Motley Crue. Should be nominated . All 3 were front runners in the genres that they were in . Look at how many hits they had in 1 year. As far as the crue you cant have the sound of 80s hard rock with out the crue.

Eminem seems like the only FYE from this year but I think Fiona Apple and Erykah Badu are also sure things to get in at some point. Their influence and acclaim has only grown in recent years, which can partially be seen with Rolling Stone's 2020 500 Greatest Albums list revision where Apple had 3 albums added to the list and Badu had 2 albums added, one of which is in the top 100.

Other than those 3 I'm not sure who else from this year could get in… Possibly Matchbox Twenty. N'SYNC could probably have a decent chance if the case is made that they're part of the vocal group/boy band tradition of the Four Seasons and Motown groups. Not sure about Spice Girls but I doubt it.

I could see Slipknot, Lil Kim, Maxwell, Belle and Sebastian, Ghostface Killah, and, to a lesser extent, Gillian Welch all having their advocates to get in but never actually making it in.

And maybe Patty Griffin and Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne) in the non-performers category as songwriters, but I doubt those would happen as well.

And Nickleback… no.

I think it's disgusting that bands like The Scorpions,Led Zeppelin,Bad Company,Motorhead,Iron Maiden and,solo artists like Pat Benatar and,Melissa Etheridge are being overlooked or just blatantly ignored and snubbed by the R-n-R Hall of Fame. These performers and others like them should be given their due and just reward for services rendered. Until then the Hall should be boycotted and shut down.
