i don't think ebar are a committee priority rather than a personal project for a member. if finished dead last or near last in voting (which is possible) i don't think they can be consider a priority when outkast, nas, ice t, wu-tang, snoop, 50 are eligible. like if light is like "we need to get eric b and rakim in today don't nominate wu-tang" i think questlove or danyel smith or tom morello will step in cause it's stalling old school hip hop like how mc5, devo, and ny dolls have stalled punk. i think the hall got lucky with tribe they were probably 8th and just close enough and i don't think they wanna have another ll cool j situation.

at best i can see them being yo-yoed with salt-n-pepa or ice t like what happened with the metal acts

I predict Outkast and EBAR will be nominated together in next year.

But there may be other hip hop candidates in front of Outkast on "list", like Ice-T, Queen Latifah or others.

This year Outkast was brought up in meeting but lost to Tribe and EBAR.

They already had Big Boi induct Kate Bush and they are featured heavily in the history of Hip Hop exhibits

I feel EBAR will return in 2025.

Alan Light mentioned ATCQ and EBAR before as two main hip hop targets and it seems that nom com already has a priority list for hip hop candidate and except for few hip hop stars (Biggie, Jay-Z, Eminem, Missy), I think nom com always follow the order on "priority list" so you can see LL Cool J was nominated again and again, then ATCQ was nominated for three straight times. So I think EBAR will get more tries.

It is not totally impossible that EBAR will be not nominated again and then be inducted in side category, but I think the induction of Tribe in this year shows that if you are the most nominated act on the ballot, your chance will be 100X higher. Also, EBAR is not totally underground act, this duo also has platinum selling album, which is similar to ATCQ. So I think EBAR will be nominated again and then may be inducted as performer.

As much as I love Styx, I just don't think that they're HOF-worthy, I think that there are other Classic Rock acts that are far more deserving of a nomination and an induction than Styx like Bad Company, Jethro Tull, Boston and The Guess Who, so for that reason, I just don't see Styx ever getting nominated (let alone being inducted) IMO. So please replace Styx with another act in your predictions for the 2025 nominees because of that.

What do you think?.

I have a gut feeling that perhaps last year Kate Bush actually did quite well, Zevon missed, which might have given the Nomination Committee a wrong impression, Sinead's chances might have been better than Buffett's, so they directly inducted Buffett and nominated Sinead but she missed.

I have a theory that he and Sinead were heavily discussed when they were making up the 2024 nominees and they made a deal that whoever missed out on being nominated would get still rewarded through the Musical Excellence route

I'm sure that if Jimmy Buffett got nominated instead of Sinead O Connor then Sinead would have been put in through Musical Exellence this time around

The Guinness book of World Records for Entertainment Industry Accomplishments is a brief bio of Taylor Swift, so if U2, The Rolling Stones the Police, Elvis, the Beatles or anyone wants to gun for the GOAT, it's a 34 year old gal from Pennsylvania.
Taylor is a "one man crew", Songwriter, Arranger, Producer, Multi-Instrumentalist and singer, she even puts together her own tours. Taylor Swift Tours is the best production Company in the Music Industry.
TTPD is basically her clearing off her desk and emptying her wastebasket. She has big plans.
She is gong to go into film making after the Eras Tour, I am certain that her soundtracks for her movies will probably be her best work.

  Jordan Einstein:

Maybe Foghat hasn't contributed anything to rock and roll to the level of the Beatles, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, et al. Then again, who has? I doubt that any of the acts inducted in the last decade have either. Rock and roll will never have another Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin, or James Brown, or a group like the Beach Boys--that pretty much has been done. But I think groups like Rush, Guns 'n Roses, KISS, Nirvana and the like have proven they have earned their place in history and deserve their place in the Hall. Maybe, in another twenty or thirty years, the twenty- or thirty-somethings of today will say that there will never be anyone who has contributed to rock and roll what Cheap Trick or Stevie Nicks has.

As for Foghat, I'm kind of on the fence. I think they have about as much significance as many of their contemporaries--REO Speedwagon, Kansas, Boston, Loverboy--who aren't in the Hall, and maybe a little less than Foreigner and Journey, who are.

The fact that rock fans think Foghat should be considered for induction just proves they have no clue what it actually takes to be one of the honorees. Don't get wrong, those blokes aren't terrible in any means & are very talented. However what they did during their career isn't very remarkable & relevant which isn't something to write home about.

Compare Foghat to the likes of The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, The Beach Boys, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, David Bowie & The Velvet Underground and I can guarantee that they have nothing on them. Those artists did everything in their existence to really earn their spot in the Hall meaning changing the entire course of rock and roll.

Tell me what Foghat had done that those I mentioned haven't. Yeah I thought so, they're not HOF material.
