I am a retired school music teacher. The Jordanaires should have been inducted the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame a long time ago as an essential ingredient into the contribution they made to the sound of early Rock and Roll recordings, mainly by Elvis [who would have been outraged at this slight he had he lived longer] but also including Ricky Nelson and a host of others. I feel the same way about the Blossoms. It seems there are too many metal heads and businessmen making decisions as to whom shall be inducted into the big business venture [not a national museum] called the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and decisions are based on profit margins, other wise they never would have considered Dolly Parton, who by her own admission was not a rock and roll singer. So she found a way to profit off of that by making a rock and roll record. and I like Dolly Parton, but no, she was not part of Rock and Roll history, ever. Ray Walker is the only Jordanaire left living apparently. Too late to honor the others. If "Musical excellence is the essential qualification for induction" half the musicians and singers inducted would not be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame...The Jordanaires are well beyond whatever low bar has been set for "musical excellence" in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
