4 comments so far (post your own)Underrated underplayed overwhelmingly under appreciated and too controversial for the corporate entity that hall has now become. He has the talent, the resume and has been a huge influence across multiple genres but his outspokenness will undoubtedly keep him out.Seve Earle deserves to be inducted every bit as much as Springsteen as a voice of the common working man. Yes Yes Yes! This is a no-brainer. Steve Earle is s pioneer in hard driving mix of county, blues and rock. He puts on an incredible live show. Once again the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame can't get it right. Posted by Carl Hardy on Monday, 08/22/2022 @ 09:06am |
Listen, I'm an Aussie & I came of age listening 2 ac/dc, Inxs & Billy Thorpe..I picked up on a lot of bands I'd never heard of when I first arrived here from Oz, including Aerosmith, Metallica & Motörhead..Well, I've enjoyed & not enjoyed a lot of what I've heard since I got here in '87, but it's ironic that some of the most inspiring stuff comes from a lot of the lesser known or under appreciated singer/songwriters & bands..exciting music hits me at every turn, when I go digging 4 it..the Cult (British), Talking Heads & now, Steve Earle..I was blasting my head off on You Tube one night when I came across some interesting comments about Steve & his music..thought, hmm, I'll try it out..first up was Copperhead Road..mercy..I've lived in Louisiana, Nth Carolina & now Florida..this was everything 4 an Aussie redneck..blew me away.. l had 2 hear more, so that's what I've been 4 the past few months..excellent style, interpretation, voice, understanding, musicianship & more & more..forget some of the acts in the hall & do yourself a favor..have a good, intense listen 2 this guy & see what u come up with..being an all encompassing Aussie music hog, I'd say at least nominate him 4 the hall.. just remember 2 have a long, hard look at who's already in..
