He is a legend or a generation of baby bombers. Music transends many of today's. He should have been inducted a long time ago. He did not gain the respect in life. Hopefully in history. Posted by Arnold on Tuesday, 02/23/2021 @ 09:10am |

While at Motown Rick produced Teena Marie the stone city band & the Mary Jane Girls Eddie Murphy Process and the Do Rags & numerous others Rick had 2 Albums on Warner Bros. records Posted by Clint E shelby on Tuesday, 03/8/2022 @ 16:29pm |
How in the name of all that is funky, has Rick James been kept out of the RRHOF when they let fly by night artists like the GO GOS are inducted. 3 albums versus damn near 30. He single handed saved MOTOWN in the 80s through his sales. A damn shame Posted by Larry McCaskill on Monday, 10/24/2022 @ 11:54am |
Why Rick James ,Teena Marie and The Stone City Band aren't in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame is a tragedy.Rick was a great songwriter and producer. He was rock & roll ,a original bad boy .Despite his drug issues Rick James was a genius in funk ,listen to the albums .Rick was living the life he was singing I see people being inducted who I know Rick James was better than.Rick James was a true legend and needs to be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ..Hall go pull up in the archive footage never seen of Rick James giving us the Punk Funk the vibe and music he created and quit hating of the man who is now dead ..Open your mind and heart and induct the man who gave Eddie Murphy Party All The Time his just due….The old school heads remember how huge he was from 1978-85 .The Punk Funk still lives on Teena Marie music still lives on she was the Ivory Queen the black community loved her one of the greatest voices ever due too Rick James blessing us with her …Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame get it right and put this man in ..Long long over due …from The Bay Area Bad Boy Ras CJ♏️ Posted by Cedric Johnson on Friday, 12/2/2022 @ 01:18am |

Rick James should of been in rock and roll Hall of fame years ago ahead of some of your previous inductees rock and roll Hall of fame is just a bunch of nonsense Posted by Frank Jacobs on Friday, 02/3/2023 @ 04:33am |
Man this one is hard because Rick James' contributions to Music and Rock are truly something that cannot be understated as one of the major legends of Funk, but at the same time Rick James was such a truly awful human being who did truly horrendous atrocities so bestowing him such an honor is such a merry situation that I doubt he will get inducted. I know music. I love all kinds of music. From ACDC to Kenny Chessney to Rick James. I was into Rick James way back in 1978 when the Mary Jane album came. Man this dude was a serious incredible song writer. Yes Rick James and Stone City band should be inducted into the RRHOF. I seen him 2 times in my home town of Austin Texas. Great live shows. Ebony eyes is my favorite Rick James Song. Yea the guy may have difficult to deal with, but that's how creative people are. Posted by Mack Wilson on Friday, 04/28/2023 @ 18:16pm |
Chic has more hits than Rick James and Chic are more famous. If Chic can not be inducted in performer category, I can not imagine the case of Rick James. Posted by power on Saturday, 07/15/2023 @ 08:15am |
Chaka is more iconic, has more famous songs and has more industry connections. Rick James is on lower level than Chaka without doubt. Posted by joyful noise on Sunday, 07/16/2023 @ 23:50pm |
Rick James created him own music genre. He was the King of Punk-Funk. He composed and wrote million selling songs. Posted by Birk on Wednesday, 11/8/2023 @ 17:43pm |
