33 comments so far (post your own)I feel it is a travesty that Peter isn't in the Hall of Fame and is why I will never visit or support it in any way. Frampton is one of the best guitarists of all time and has had a massive influence on rock music. Why should he be punished for the greedy managers & record producers that pushed him into "I'm in You" & "Sgt. Peppers"? Anyone that understands Frampton knows that wasn't him and should focus on his entire body of work, including his Grammy award winning Fingerprints. Without Frampton & Yes, the HOF is a complete joke. Posted by Genene on Tuesday, 09/3/2013 @ 18:33pm |
Another year and another round of nominees and no Peter Frampton. He so deserves to be there and I believe will be there one day. His guitar circus this year was an amazing tour and he continues to show us all that he is one of the best guitarists ever. It will happen, just hold on. Love you Peter! not mentioned so far is frampton's camel. Posted by brian on Tuesday, 03/24/2015 @ 19:05pm |
Peter Frampton is an excellent live act who draws his audience in to the performance. His songs have stood the test of time and his fan base is loyal. Have been with him since we were both 16. Posted by Dee Fitzsimons on Sunday, 04/26/2015 @ 06:25am |
I just saw him live. He played acoustic for the whole set, and it was fantastic. He played over two hours, and played the big hits. He still can rock on the guitar, and his voice still sounds great. I understand that he only had a few hits, but the size of the "comes alive" album, plus his time in Humble Pie, ought to make him worthy of consideration. After all, he's played himself on the simpsons and family guy...how many rockers can say that? Posted by PLUTO on Wednesday, 10/21/2015 @ 16:56pm |
Although it's far too early to make predictions for the 2017 Rock Hall nominations, I'm gonna go out on a whim and predict Peter Frampton will receive a nomination later this year. He has been mentioned a lot on SiriusXM, appearing on an artist confidential interview for Classic Vinyl. The moderator/interview is David Frick who worked for Rolling Stone and is a member of the Rock Hall's nominating committee. Not only that, but his interview for Classic Vinyl has been mentioned a lot on Rock Hall Radio in the last few days (Classic Vinyl has re-played the interview several times since then and it's on their on-demand service too). Plus now Rock Hall Radio now has a new feature on their new station where they play "Rock Hall Hopefuls" (I emailed FRL about this last week). They've been playing selective artists many of my fellow posters would be happy to hear: Jethro Tull, Moody Blues, Todd Rundgren, Peter Frampton, Chubby Checker, Edgar Winter, The J. Geils Band and Three Dog Night. They're been playing a lot of Jethro Tull, Moody Blues and Frampton since they've started this late last week. Posted by Nick on Wednesday, 03/16/2016 @ 21:31pm |
Peter Frampton may not have astronomical success commercially after Frampton comes alive and I am in you. and even if Where I should be was a nice follow up to I'm in you, but music was changing during that. New Wave and punk were heavy favorites. But Peter Frampton's talent never waned. He is a virtuoso guitar player, singer and songwriter. Hall of Fame does not mean commercial success. Peter Frampton is famous from his amazing guitar work singing and songwriting. From his days in Humble Pie to Frampton comes alive, to his latest album, Peter Frampton his been continually growing as artist and his fans love him. His music brings back great memories and all though he may not have sold hundreds of millions of albums, he is ingrained in the rock 'n' roll tapestry that we all love. He definitely belongs in the Hall of Fame and if you ask many questions inductees in the rock 'n' roll Hall of Fame they would agree Posted by Eric on Tuesday, 05/9/2017 @ 02:25am |
I refused to watch The Rock N Roll Hall of Fame to this day. Whomever does the picking of the yearly nominees, do they have enough experience to do so? Peter Frampton is one of the most amazing guitarist in this world! Other great guitarist went with playing the typical blues style notes but Peter decided to inject jazz influence notes into his leads instead which made his music much more unique. Peter has made 24 albums and they're All great sounding songs. Peter Frampton WILL be inducted to the rock n roll hall of fame in 2018!!! Posted by Carlos Pereda on Wednesday, 05/17/2017 @ 01:20am |
Continuously overlooked by nominating committee. Posted by Mark on Tuesday, 08/14/2018 @ 21:57pm |

Mark,, He certainty should have a chance! Posted by DrRock on Wednesday, 08/15/2018 @ 11:14am |
There are pros and cons to Peter Frampton. He may have had some influence but his problem is that I don't think he has enough relevant material. Posted by Zuzu on Wednesday, 08/15/2018 @ 11:49am |
Anyone heard Peter’s cover of “Black Hole Sun” as a tribute to the late Chris Cornell? It was surprisingly pretty good. Posted by The Dude on Wednesday, 08/15/2018 @ 12:16pm |
Yes, his version of BHS IS quite good, but he recorded it years before Cornell's passing, so it really isn't a tribute, even if it could be seen as one... Posted by EDS on Wednesday, 08/15/2018 @ 18:14pm |
I want to start a petition to get this incredibly talented man into the R&R hall of fame. He’s been overlooked way too long. Now that he’s sick it needs to be done before he loses his ability to play guitar. Anyone know how to do this? I’m very serious about this. Posted by Melody on Thursday, 06/6/2019 @ 12:19pm |
I've got tickets to see him in August. So cannot wait. And yes, he does deserve to get in. Posted by Jason Voigt on Thursday, 06/6/2019 @ 14:16pm |
I revealed on my Twitter account earlier that Peter Frampton will be one of my predictions for being nominated this year. I'm sure if his name appeared on the ballot, he would get in right away. What little is mentioned besides his live album and his short-lived studio career in the mainstream is his many connections. Mick Jagger, Joe Walsh, and much more. It is so unbelievable that one of the greatest guitarists of all time is not in the R&R HOF. He should be in for....Do you feel like I do....alone. Not only does he have the greatest live rock album of all time. He has all that work with Humble Pie & the Herd. Plus all of is solo work. You have R&B, Country & Disco artists in there. How can Peter Frampton not be in. Ridiculous. Posted by Eddie D. on Tuesday, 11/19/2019 @ 12:02pm |
Frampton is an amazing artist who did MUCH more than Comes Alive. Anyone who doesn't know that, wasn't paying attention to his true talent. Posted by Charlotte Melucci on Tuesday, 05/12/2020 @ 13:05pm |
It's a crime that Peter Frampton isn't in the Rock Hall of Fame (Jethro Tull too!). "Frampton Comes Alive" is possibly rock's best live album and certainly one of the best- selling albums of all time. How in the world does T-Rex get in ahead of Frampton? Posted by Bob Moseley on Thursday, 11/12/2020 @ 09:26am |
Because T. Rex can actually write two classic and pioneering albums. Posted by David W Richman on Wednesday, 02/10/2021 @ 21:02pm |
Peter Frampton sin is that he was a very good looking boy and a great guy with a high spirit and loads, loads of talent converted into rock hits. The Hall of Fame critics don't snub him, they envy him. Posted by Spharion on Sunday, 02/21/2021 @ 09:25am |

I think he should get in because he's such a great musician and performer. One of the best performers ever. Forget the studio albums. One of the best performers ever makes him special. Posted by Michael on Wednesday, 02/2/2022 @ 19:27pm |
I can feel everyone's pain over the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame and their neo-political and friggin woke agenda. It is a crime that Peter Frampton is not in the Rock Hall hell he came over on the boat with Humble Pie at age 17 and he is still filling venues. But, Pete does not care he still plays his guitar and sings with that big smile on his face just as he has done all those year. Because for him, it is not about the money or a pat on the back from the Rock Hall, but about his music and the chance he has to share it with his fans. Why do you think Ritchie Blackmore did not show when Deep Purple final got in the Rock Hall after 40+ years. Ritchie did not need the Rock Hall to tell him he was a great guitarist. Besides, John Lord was already dead, one of the founding members with Blackmore and Ian Paice. So Frampton should not feel alone, for not being in the Rock Hall. Their are many others in the same woke boat. For example, here are a few: Ted Nugent (who first started out playing bass for Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley "wake up rock hall"), Whitesnake, Rainbow, Ronnie James Dio, 38 Special, Boston, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Dokken, Foghat, Molly Hatchet, Scorpions, Blackfoot, Cinderella, Triumph, Vanilla Fudge, and maybe even Black Sabbath not sure. I know Ozzy is not in as a solo artist. I am sure I am leaving out many many others. But, don't lose any sleep over it, because these artist aren't losing sleep over it. They know it is about the music and their many fans. They don't need no woke organization to tell them what they created. Everyday they still get on that stage, they are home and that is the only high they need. Posted by Dr. Jon on Tuesday, 05/10/2022 @ 21:26pm |
"It's A Plain Shame" he has not been inducted into the Rock Hall! Posted by Eric Sutter on Wednesday, 09/7/2022 @ 10:52am |
Framptons an all time top 10 guitar player for me! Comes Alive might be the best live album by a solo artist (Last Waltz and Stop Making sense beat it out counting full bands). I love his work and I'd love to see him inducted. His chances are decent enough, one of these years he could come in as the token classic rock pick on an upcoming ballot. It's a total injustice and travesty that Peter Frampton is not in the Rock Hall. What in the world are they thinking? Posted by Ron Gottschalk on Wednesday, 05/24/2023 @ 00:58am |
Tired of watching others getting into the HOF that don't have half the qualifications and are not even known for their work in rock. Put someone in who belongs like Frampton. Posted by MRB on Friday, 01/5/2024 @ 14:02pm |
Nearly after five years of commenting on this page, Frampton is now on the ballot and for me its safe to say he is a lock for 2024. Posted by Jason Voigt on Tuesday, 02/13/2024 @ 23:35pm |
