2 comments so far (post your own)Inducted in the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2007, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes are up there with the O'Jays (who also are in the Vocal Group Hall of Fame... and, unlike Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, *are* in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame) as one of the greatest soul groups of all time. Like the O'Jays, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes defined 1970s-era Philly soul. To put it simply, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes richly deserve to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
