The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, although it celebrates a lot of good rock and rollers, is misguided regarding rock and roll as essential a pop music category. Sade, an artist I absolutely love and enjoy, isn't a rock and roll artist at all. Garland Jeffereys, a great rock and roller both musically and Lyrically, belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame decades ago. He's what one can consider a no brainer. But I suppose it's become like a lot of things that don't age well in a world of essential obsolescence. Living the lie because belief and fantasy are more valuable than truth and authentic consideration. There is no actual criteria for what is rock and what is not. Then again, I enjoy the music regardless. Halls of Fame are not founded on any strict allegiance. Maybe that's a good thing. Just a thought.
