For 25 years this band consistently wrote, recorded, and performed magnificent pop/rock songs. They deservedly were inducted into Australia's rock hall, and they deserve induction in ours. I don't think I am exaggerating when I say that they were among the top 50 genuine rock bands of all time. In my opinion, they are in the top ten.

Excellent live band whose material was hit and miss. They had a handful of great songs, but their overall discography isn't strong enough to merit a place in the Hall.

@Fredd - Can't agree at all. The likes of 10-1, D&D and E&S&M are outstanding records, and nothing from the late 70s to the early 90s dropped below a 7. They absolutely deserve to be in the Hall.

I'm not sure how you can leave out a band like Midnight Oil. Possibly because there is no one else like them. They always felt like an elemental force of nature to me. Maybe it's for the best - the flimsy walls of the R and R HOF could never contain them.

I never thought one of my favorite bands (Rush) would ever get in the Hall. Another absolute favorite is Midnight Oil, but since they are more off the map than a group from Toronto. The Oils have always been great live, and even their "poorer" albums have very catchy tunes on them, and plenty have great lyrics.

Midnight Oil, Radio Birdman and Cold Chisel are amongst the greatest bands of all time, and it is a travesty that only one Australian band is in the hall of fame (AC/DC)!!
