Has potential. he is freshest rappers in the last few years

If Kendrick gets in, he'll be the last rap artist possibly ever to make it in. It's too early to tell if he's a HOF artist, but I can see him managing to squeeze in, he's innovating west coast rap with songs like "I".

Section.80, Good Kid Maad City, To Pimp A Butterfly...

One of the best three-album runs in history. All hail the King.

He's becoming quite a pressing concern as far as rap goes. To Pimp a Butterfly is easily a worthy follow-up to good kid, m.A.A.d city and Section.80.

If he's able to nail one more album like those three, I would actually be comfortable calling him a front-runner for this year in the Hall of Fame.

We haven't even had a chance to vote in To Pimp a Butterfly and he's already released the fourth album in a solid four album run with untitled unmastered.

We can't vote it in, due to the compilation rule, but the effect stays: Kendrick Lamar's a front-runner, and barring him doing something stupid, his induction is a likely possibility.

I don't get why everyone is talking about Lamar like he's good. Look at Swimming Pools, it sounds like every other song of it's time, and his flow is horrid on the rest of his first album, and for the rest of his career his delivery is very hit or miss... To put it bluntly Kendrick isn't that good of a rapper. I vote a strong no

Rappers don't belong in the Rock Hall of Fame any more than Beethoven does.

Kendrick Lamar did to rap what Bob Dylan did to rock. So yeah, he deserves a spot.

It almost feels silly to put a lot of these "younger" and "newer" artists up here. However, Kendrick Lamar is a exception here. He is simply special. The comment above me compared him to Bob Dylan and I would agree with this comparison. Both are Pulitzer winners and are extremely talented songwriters. They both might not be everyone's cup of tea with their voices but their song writing is where they sell it. Now back to Lamar; his discography is already great. He is a lock to be in the rock and roll hall of fame already. To Pimp A Butterfly is probably the greatest album in the past 20 years and the greatest rap album of all time. Do I need to say anymore?

He's this generation's Tupac. An absolute yes from me.

If any modern artist deserves it, it's him.
