Rock and Roll Hall of Fame introduces new category for singles

The songs aren't, technically, being inducted into the Rock Hall, but will be honored at the museum in a special way. Stevie Van Zandt of the E Street Band was on hand to announce the first six songs that will be recognized.

04. Louie Louie by The Kingsmen

Gerry Goffin and Carole King were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 1990. Ben E. King was their presenter. Ben E. King died in 2015.

Ike and Tina Turner were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 1991. Phil Spector was their presenter. Phil Spector died in 2021.

Carole King and Ike and Tina Turner were both nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989, and they both lost.
