OMG..... Gitarzan you took the words right out of my mouth! We see Brian Setzer's show every year and he's miraculous! At last count he plays/performs and has written 6 different genres of music in 1 show! He is one of the most talented musicians I've ever seen or heard. He's so humble about though that he is totally underrated. For his contributions and influence in rock, blues and swing he has most definitely earned a spot in the Rock and Rock Hall of Fame in my opinion! Brian Setzer is a perfect candidate for that Musical Excelence RRHOF award and honor. Like Paul Rodgers, he deserves to be in RRHOF somehow. Caught the Brian Setzer Orchestra in late 90's and another time in 2000s. Really enjoyed his guitar work and the show. I'm colorblind but it looked like Bryan Setzer was wearing a red satin jacket type material. It was a good 2 hrs and you could tell Setzer enjoyed the music and crowd as people were dancing and grooving. Brian Setzer Stray Cats, Solo, and Orchestra are all interesting. Hope he gets inducted one day. KING Posted by KING on Friday, 06/5/2015 @ 02:57am |

The Stray Cats brought the essence of rock and roll to a whole new generation. All those guys are phenom musicians. This is such a no brainer, I don't doubt it never occurred to Jann Wenner to put them in there. Posted by kathy2trips on Thursday, 05/24/2018 @ 17:43pm |
Stray Cats do not meet the criteria for entry in the HOF. Posted by Mark on Thursday, 05/24/2018 @ 20:21pm |
Brian setzer should of been in the rock n roll hall of fame a long time ago he's done so much he's a legend there's so many great things that we can say about him he deserves it Posted by Wayne Rhodes on Tuesday, 04/14/2020 @ 17:11pm |
Brian Setzer, at a minimum, should be in on his own. He ushered in the revival of TWO completely different genres of music. The Stray Cats were a breath of fresh air and sparked a lot of copy cat (pardon the pun) rockabilly groups. Then, out of nowhere, he launched a revival of a big band jazzed. The most amazing part of that was that electric guitars were not even part of big bands. Sezter infused that sound and rocked it up. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is pretty much devolving into the Let's Recognized Best Selling Artist Hall of Fame. Setzer had a good enough amount of popularity. But it's his innovations in rockabilly and rocked up big band that makes his truly worthy. On top of all of that, he's a hell of a guitar player -- right up there with the best.
