53 comments so far (post your own)This is an interesting question, but if Bryan gets in what about Hall & Oates or The Cars (they belong already!). Before you laugh, consider that Hall & Oates were the most successful duo of the rock era, producing at least 6 #1 hit singles plus a slew of other top 10 hits. As for The Cars, they were big during a very similar timeframe as HOF inductees The Police, and actually produced more top 40 hits and were also favorites of the critics, especially the 1st 2 albums. If Blondie, The Police, Patty Smith, and The Talking Heads are in, The Cars should be as well. Posted by David Balzano on Friday, 07/5/2013 @ 17:04pm |
David, I think The Cars and Hall & Oates definitely deserve induction, they are two of the more obvious snubs, in my opinion. Not so much for Bryan Adams. I really like Adams, and I think 'Reckless' kicks ass from start to finish. But there is more to being a Hall of Famer, and I don't think he has it. Posted by Dezmond on Friday, 07/5/2013 @ 19:01pm |
Two thumbs up for Bryan Adams RRHOF induction. Reckless was one of the best 80's album. One of my favorites .Hits Summer of 69, Run To You, Heaven,It's Only Love...Those songs rocked. What an album!!! Posted by KING on Tuesday, 01/28/2014 @ 22:09pm |
Bryan Adams will be inducted in the 2020-2025 time frame. His contributions to music have been incredible. Humanitarian work, concerts in 3rd world nation's,his dedication to music. Posted by KING on Saturday, 02/15/2014 @ 13:23pm |
Bryan Adams is a definite Rock N Roll Hall Of Famer. Reckless is a pure rock and roll album & one of the best of all time. Diamond rated. Also he has sung with the greats Sting,Tina Turner & collaborated with other HOF acts. Many of the groups who are waiting for induction have died or folded their tents years before. Bryan Adams continues to rock venues & write good music. His CD's are excellent. Hard rock or softer. Bryan Adams has perpetuated rock music in various styles for over 30 years. I believe the only reason Bryan Adams isn't in the HOF is because he's Canadian. While I, being a Canadian, agree that most Canadian music sucks, Bryan Adams is an exception along with a few other names like Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Rush, and the Band. Adams has had an insurmountable amount of success internationally, that alone should get him in. But the fact that his songs aren't actually that generic and are actually very well written and performed, there is no reason why he shouldn't be in the HOF. Bryan Adams is overrated. His music is pretty milquetoast. Being Canadian is like... the tenth thing wrong with him. Posted by Philip on Tuesday, 09/16/2014 @ 22:10pm |

Bryan Adams greatness nearly 40 years now. Reckless might be the greatest Rock album of all time song for song. Not a weak track. He's a definite RRHOF artist who continues to make excellent music and sell out concerts. Has so many awards, hits, accolades, and units sold. No holes in the resume. Performed with Sting, Tina Turner, and some of the greatest musicians of all time. It's disappointing when lesser acts to Bryan Adams are inducted. He should be in for his totality of work. Apparently the master copy of Reckless has been lost forever. Does anyone know the details? It was mentioned on the cover of UNCUT, MOJO or Classic Rock magazine a few months ago. I can't remember which. I didn't have the money to buy it. Posted by Roy on Sunday, 05/17/2015 @ 20:10pm |
I think Bryan Adams will be inducted. Reminds me of a Hall & Oates type or Rush. Will be inducted for his longevity, musical excellence, and devotion to music. He continues to make new CD's and has outstanding live shows. Unlike many bands or indie artists, Bryan Adams has won several accolades and awards including Canadian Hall of Fame and Star Walk of Fame. He's collaborated with some of music's best artists Rod Stewart, Sting, Tina Turner for example. Reckless continues to be remembered as one of 80's best albums. As the next 5 years moves on, Bryan Adams will move to the top of snubs list. People talk about influence and innovation but really what did Joan Jett & The B, Percy Sledge, and Laura Nyro do in these areas and they were inducted. Bryan Adams continues to rock while other bands disbanded, stalled out, or had members die from various addictions. Bryan Adams is a musician's musician and the Diamond album Reckless puts him in RRHOF. KING Posted by KING on Thursday, 05/28/2015 @ 19:17pm |
I had a dream last week that Bryan Adams was inducted into the RRHOF. He has several platinum albums and the Classic Reckless. On criteria Innovation and Influence, Bryan Adams has mostly played good hard rock music in the Reckless days drifting to soft rock and poppier sound on some 90's hits. That's the only thing that might trip up his induction. I would vote YES because of his totality of work and musical excellence. Could see Bryan Adams nominated in the next 5-10 years. KING Posted by KING on Saturday, 06/13/2015 @ 03:58am |
As the years pass, Bryan Adams is deserving of Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. He's a musician's musician and easily would fall on Level 3 of the RRHOF pyramid. Now 55 years old, he will continue to put out quality CD's and excellent concerts. I don't know his exact Innovation or Influence but he has put up an outstanding collection of music and concert performances. I could see Bryan Adams receiving a nomination next 5 years and induction 5-10. Unlike many musicians who gripe about RRHOF, Bryan Adams probably would be honored if bestowed the honor. KING Posted by KING on Thursday, 07/2/2015 @ 19:17pm |
I hear some good examples of RRHOF snubs but to me Bryan Adams deserves more consideration. He has put the country of Canada on his back with Neil Young,Rush etc to show talents of Canadian artists. The Reckless album remains one of the best 80's albums and followed up with platinum selling Into The Fire. Reckless was a Diamond Selling album and several of Adams albums were platinum or gold. Posted by KING on Friday, 10/2/2015 @ 20:09pm |
It might be Bryan Adams time in 2016. He's creeping closer to 60 and has had several Diamond albums if you include Canadian purchases. Probably one of the greatest talents of all time. Reckless continues to be one of the greatest Rock & Roll albums ever. Mr. Adams is not prog and he doesn't have to be. Just great rock and roll and he will be heavily pushed by KING as well as the Scorpions. A salute Sir! KING Posted by KING on Thursday, 01/14/2016 @ 02:02am |
2016 should be time for a Bryan Adams nomination. 40 years in music now and continues to have favorable airplay and concert tours. Bryan Adams is a tour de force as singer, guitarist, songwriter, photographer. His many musical accomplishments and awards scroll down the pages. Adams has collaborated with the greats Rod Stewart,Tina Turner, Sting all who are already in RRHOF. Reckless remains one of the best albums ever. Platinum albums, signature songs, longevity, hits...Throw it all together Bryan Adams is a definite Hall Of Famer. KING Posted by KING on Sunday, 03/20/2016 @ 03:08am |
Bryan Adams was 10 years old in 1969. Posted by Roy on Sunday, 05/8/2016 @ 08:13am |
I grew up listening to Bryan Adams constantly in the 80's. Attended concerts, bought all the albums, etc... Then I drifted away as he became more of a ballad writer. Funny thing: Just saw Bryan Adams live last night for the first time in 20+ years. And now overnight, I find myself a fan of his all over again. He still puts on a quality show of 2+ hours (no opening act, of course, not needed with his catalogue). There were fans in the crowd as young as 7-8 and as old as 65-70. If an artist can draw fans from three generations, he's got to be doing something right - regardless what critics believe his influence or lack thereof might be. He's Canada's version of Bruce Springsteen and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. They both represent their countries with class and integrity. So enough with the comparatives, since in reality most posters here envy his talent and success. If you don't appreciate him and/or his music, then move on and listen to what you enjoy. Respect the talent and skill level of all these great artists, regardless of their induction worthiness. Just my two cents worth... Posted by Habsfan on Wednesday, 07/27/2016 @ 09:41am |
Saw him perform tonight outside St. Louis. (I had a $15 off coupon from Live Nation that I used at the last minute) He wasn't on my bucket list, but I'm glad I went. It was actually a great show. Adams has aged greatly, and he still sounds like he did on his radio songs (Run To You, Somebody, Please Forgive Me). It was different because all band members were dressed up spiffy. I found it very interesting that for a guy who hasn't had a real hit in 20 years, there were lots that showed up to see him. Plenty of ladies there that's for sure! Which brings me to this.... Jason, glad you got to see him. I saw Ryan Adams earlier in year, so I guess we're even on Adamses. Posted by Paul in KY on Sunday, 09/18/2016 @ 20:29pm |

Bryan Adams should have a good chance to be nominated in 2018. The Nom Comm have been nominating 80's and 90's groups recently. Adams 40 years in the business and continues to rock the stage. He isn't prog and doesn't need to be. Everybody on stage will be singing Summer of 69 when he's inducted. KING Posted by KING on Thursday, 01/11/2018 @ 00:39am |
Global Superstar...still! Go watch him perform...and you will agree he belongs in the HOF...also, count Bruce Springsteen , Bonnie Rait, Tina Turner, Rod Stewart, Sting, and many many more influential artists as huge fans of his...his BARE BONES and MTV-UNPLUGGED albums with everything stripped down demonstrate his amazing talents...his pays homage to DIANA and he his latest hits “You Belong to me” and “Please Stay” show he still is creating great music. He wrote hits for several other artists as well, like the song “when the night comes” by Joe Cocker...and Bryan’s live version is better than Joe’s...watch it on YouTube... Bryan Adams looking good for a nomination this 2019-2020 cycle. As he nears his 60th birthday, the global music star has enough quality songs and albums to merit induction. Cuts Like A Knife, It's Only Love, Run To You, Summer Of 69, The Robin Hood Classic Song, etc. Throw in the numerous Juno awards and movie scores plus longevity 40+ years. He has also written songs for other artists. No matter how you cut it up or slice it, Bryan Adams has a resume that warrants RRHOF induction. KING Posted by KING on Thursday, 07/11/2019 @ 17:37pm |

Seeing him inducted would be believable if he has a connection to the Nom Com or anyone in office, but he’ll never get in. Then again, he was very successful commercially and is easy enough to the capitalize the Hall. Posted by The Dude on Thursday, 07/11/2019 @ 20:08pm |
He's a little far down the priorities list for the Hall at the moment but maybe in the next 7-10 years. Posted by Tom H. on Monday, 09/23/2019 @ 11:57am |
Bryan Adams is definitely deserving of a hall of fame nomination! His body of work over the past 30+ years certainly speaks for itself and he is still writing and producing today! Saw him in concert back in 1991 and again in 2016 and he was even better today!! Looking at the ballot today for the class of 2020 and he's not even on the list. "craftwork", "thin lizzy", notorious BIG?? No Bryan Adams??? Come on hall!! Posted by Tracy G on Tuesday, 10/15/2019 @ 11:28am |
Bryan Adams being judged? Really? More than 100 million sales? Guiness record for a 16th long #1 hit in Billboard and UK? Live aid? The Wall? Duets with Tina , Elton, Barbara, Pavarotti? Wembley blowout concert, icon of the 80's still rockin? Composer of +10 top 10 hits? One of the best live performers recognized by Rolling Stone? It's crazy not only to debate his induction to HOF..it is stupid to deny it... Posted by Zeke on Wednesday, 01/1/2020 @ 03:08am |

Bryan Adams belongs in the RRHOF. Successful recording artist for over 30 years. Talented songwriter. Numerous hit songs. Over 100 million records sold. Take a good look at who is in the RRHOF. Are you really gonna tell me everyone belongs there? And also, are all these artists more talented and successful than Adams? Let's be totally honest the RRHOF is a joke. Hoping for a Bryan Adams nomination this year coming up 2022. He's plenty deserving and they could use Summer of 69 as 1 of the final artists jams. A KING FAV since 1983. 1 of my 1st FAV music artists. Reckless is still 1 of the best albums of all-time. Every song could be a monster hit and many of them were. A Bryan Adams salute! BA is no brainer for the RRHOF for his song writing for himself and other artists alone. One of the greats him and Jim Vallance wrote a ton of hit songs . He also has stood the test of time for over 40 yrs . Keith Scott who has been his long time. Lead guitarist from the get go is very underrated for his talents .
