Bob Welch, the musician died on June 7, 2012. Two years and two days later on June 9, 2014, Bob Welch, the baseball player died. Both have the same middle initial, L. Bob Welch, the musician's middle name was Lawrence whereas Bob Welch, the baseball player's middle name was Lynn.

I am very sad about Bob Welch's death. Even before he died, though, I couldn't make sense out of his exclusion from Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's induction of Fleetwood Mac. Bob Welch contributed many great songs, vocals, and guitars to 5 Fleetwood Mac albums and tours. He really deserved to be included. It just doesn't make any sense at all.

Just incredibly stupid and petty that Bob Welch was not inducted into the RR HOF with Fleetwood Mac. I have lost a lot of respect for both Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, as well as the HOF selection board and whoever else was responsible for this grave omission. Bob was fantastic with FM and contributed so much, great song writing, great vocals and guitar playing, and of course great leadership. The tragic events of his death only add to the outrage and sadness of this egregious slight. RIP Bob you are one in a million!

Bob Welch saved Fleetwood Mac when Jeremy Spencer ran off with the Children Of God and Peter Green left again after a temporary reunion with the band.Bob also got the group through some difficult times, like Danny Kirwan's mental breakdown, Bob Weston's affair with Mick's wife and the subsequent Fake Mac crisis and the band's establishment in America. The and may be upset by his leaving and his suing them for nack royalties but he was owed them and he just wanted to point out tbe oversight. Bob's life and work should be honored by putting him in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame with the others in Fleetwood Mac.In fact, everyone who has ever played in Fleetwood Mac belongs in The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Mick has?always found great talent, but especially Bob Welch.

I agree that it was just disgraceful to exclude Bob, but it's a bit unfairly to squarely blame the band for it. I'm not sure if it was the band's choice as to which members were inducted or if it was the HOF committee who made the decisions beyond the band's control.

Honestly, when it comes to inducting bands, I think the HOF should just make a rule for themselves to induct every member from every era, regardless of importance, contributions, personal relationships or whatever, much like they did when all seven members of The Eagles were inducted.

It's really sad that the middle period is so overlooked and until I was a teenager, I had absolutely no interest in the pre-Buckingham/Nicks albums. The first early Fleetwood Mac album that I had on vinyl was "Bare Trees" and I found that I actually like Bob's song "Sentimental Lady".

Bob did later recant his accusations against Mick on a Q&A forum or something and stated that he believed that the committee disliked his style of music.

Bob did a lot for Fleetwood Mac - he played on five albums, sang, wrote good songs and played guitar alongside Danny Kirwan and Bob Weston, effectively co-managed the band with Mick around 1974 and was instrumental in getting the band to move from England to Los Angeles - so as you can see, he was a very considerable asset, not a footnote. The band has acknowledged what he did for them.

Did Bob Welch sing "Ebony Eyes"?

Yes, Bob Welch did sing Ebony Eyes. It was a #14 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and #12 on the Cash Box Top 100 charts in 1978.

Bob Welch is a music hero of mine!!

Through poetic lyrics in his Sentimental Lady, we get a peak into an intimate romantic conversation as only Mr. Welch could convey. His use of Emaj7 through B7 chords is so masterful and combine to leave the listener with a breathtaking experience. As such his music is always on my mind, in my heart and resounding from my tenor.

To my dear mentor in spirit, Bob,

Thank you for all the beauty you filled the air with.
