Well, I finally saw one of the biggest metal acts in the world right now at Louder than Life in Louisville. Slipknot closed down this year's fest & played to a large Sunday crowd, most of whom appeared to be wearing something with 'Slipknot' on them.

There sure is alot of them up there. 8 at least, and they sure put out the sound. Corey Taylor does a fine job fronting the band. Likes to crouch down while singing (does that alot). Great guitar players, as well. Music all sorta sounds the same, though. Quite a spectacle to watch, but songs don't really do it for me.

Dunno bout you guys, but I wanna see Corey Taylor presents future inductees at the HOF ceremonies every now and then. If Dave Grohl, Bono and Eddie Vedder does it, then why not him?

Dude, would surprise me if he doesn't induct some metal/hard rock act here in next year or so.

He's very respected in the rock community.

Slipknot’s self titled album will turn twenty in June. It was a fresh and unique perspective to not only the “nu metal” scene, but also the movement itself.

NEVER MIND THEIR IDENTITY, SLIPKNOT’S MYSTERIOUS NEW MEMBER IS AWESOME

“We still have no idea who they are, but that doesn’t matter: the new member of Slipknot is already proving their worth.”

And the best thing about the new guy is the dude is a character of his own. It’s a good thing they’re taking notes from the early 80’s KISS when it comes to lineup changes.

After listening to We Are Not Your Kind a few times, it’s the best Slipknot album I’ve ever heard since Vol. 3. Not only the fans are lovin’ it, but also the critics.

https://www.billboard.com/articles/business/chart-beat/8527688/slipknot-third-no-1-album-billboard-200

Slipknot Ties Up Third No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart With 'We Are Not Your Kind'

“Slipknot scores its third No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart as the rock band’s We Are Not Your Kind bows in the top slot. The album earned 118,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Aug. 15, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 102,000 were in album sales.”

“We Are Not Your Kind was released on Aug. 9 via Roadrunner Records, and is the group’s first studio album since 2014’s .5: The Gray Chapter.”

“The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units are comprised of traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new Aug. 24-dated chart, where We Are Not Your Kind enters at No. 1, will be posted in full on Billboard's websites on Aug. 20.”

“We Are Not Your Kind is the first hard rock album to lead the Billboard 200 since Foo Fighters’ Concrete and Gold entered at No. 1 with 127,000 units on the list dated Oct. 7, 2017. We Are Not Your Kind also tallies the largest week for a hard rock album, in terms of units earned, since Concrete.”

“We Are Not Your Kind’s big week was boosted by sales of the album generated from a concert ticket/album sale redemption offer with Slipknot’s tour, which started on July 26.”

“In total, We Are Not Your Kind is the band’s fifth top 10 effort on the Billboard 200. The act previously visited the region with .5: The Gray Chapter (No. 1, 2014), All Hope Is Gone (No. 1, 2008), Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) (No. 2, 2004) and Iowa (No. 3, 2001).”

“The new album was led by the single “Unsainted,” which became the act’s seventh top 10 hit on the Mainstream Rock Songs airplay chart (July 6-dated list). Back in June, the single peaked at No. 4 on the Hot Rock Songs chart, which blends airplay, streams and sales data to rank the week’s most popular rock tracks.”

A job well done to all the fans who spend a few bucks for the new album like me!

Sonic Temple has great music, but venue not the best. Basically Mapfre soccer stadium & the surrounding parking lot.

Honestly slipknot deserve to get in but they probably won't because of how the hall of fame are like with metal bands. And they also are a pretty good nu metal band they're concerts always have some crazy stuff going on so that you don't get bored. Yes they should be in.

I love Slipknot and I think that they should be in the hall, but we all know that the hall hates heavy metal. I don't think it will happen unfortunately

Posted by Trent on Tuesday, 07/27/2021 @ 23:38pm

I think they could do what kiss did. They have a huge fanbase, and are one of the biggest names in rock. I think they eventually might be inducted but it will take a long time

Do these guys wear masks?

Posted by Brian Schonour on Thursday, 12/9/2021 @ 20:30pm

^ to answer your question, yes they do.
As for Slipknot, I do think they are worthy. Unfortunately, the Hall hates heavy metal, and Slipknot aren't nearly as accessible as Metallica (the only metal band in the hall alongside Black Sabbath.) Their musical career is overshadowed by the shocking imagery that this band uses in their live shows and videos. Since the Hall is adverse to overly controversial loud bands such as Motley Crue and the Hall is also adverse to metal, (in particular Slipknot who might be the heaviest band to get as big as they are) it's sadly unlikely that Slipknot will ever get in the Hall of Fame.

Posted by Henry on Tuesday, 12/21/2021 @ 22:31pm

Slipknot belongs in the hall of fame but they're not elligible until 2025 unfortunately so we'll wait.
