As of this date she does not deserve this honor. If she has a crap load of more success, than maybe, just maybe, she will get in. But as of now, NO.

"Royals" is a fantasic song, but it won't be enough to get Lorde into The Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. She'll need to be more successful if she is to be nominated.

I absolutely admire Lorde and her work and artistry. At the moment she has done some influence on music, but not enough to be nominated yet. If she continues to be successful with her next several albums and even remains somewhat relevant in the 2020s and 2030s, then maybe she could have a chance. It's too early to determine now though.

Lorde is the best-selling Kiwi or New Zealand artist of my generation. When Lorde was 15-16, she released the debut single we all know "Royals", such a mature songwriting. Melodrama her sophomore album, one of the best of 2017 not one bad song in that album. Lorde needs to continue making music to get this high honor, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

This situation is a tricky one, as Lorde herself is not seen as a major figure in pop culture, but the sound she created was emulated immensely following her debut to where her influence is substantial. Her melancholy and hypotonic tone of music inspired obviously the likes of Lana Del Rey (even though she came first, her music following Lorde's Royals did see a shift), Halsey, Billie Eilish, Alessia Cara, Selena Gomez, and most recently Olivia Rodrigo, all of these artists containing massive Top Ten Hot 100 hit songs with this sound in mind. Although Lorde has yet to become a force herself, her music certainly inspired a generation of musicians after her, making her influence great and impact of Rock and Roll greater.
