I think Alanis made some enemies when she ditched the rock hall induction of Carly Simon because she sees the obvious sexism in its institution. With that being said, Sinead having one American hit shouldn't be a detriment. If the hall thinks that's her only claim to fame in America then she wouldn't have been nominated in the first place. I mean, Amy Winehouse is one of the most iconic singers now years after her death, but if you asked someone who isn't a huge fan of her music if they can name a song besides Rehab, they'll more than likely give you a blank look.

Popularity among fans doesn't matter, the main factor is how much the inner circle loves you. Iron Maiden has a ton of fans and can still hold arena tours in the US, but they are nowhere near being inducted, as Maiden is isolated from inner circle people.

1. There's a lot of classic rock field being represented with Foreigner, Peter Frampton & Jimmy Buffett selected as inductees. This means the rock crowd can finally stop bitching about how the Hall doesn't listen to them complaining about rappers, country stars & anyone else they don't like being honored. Heck we can stop letting in acts from the era so lets focus on modern artists for their consideration.

2. A very populist class just like 2022. Nowadays it's about whether you're popular with fans is what it takes to be included which I find it to be ridiculously laughable.

3. Now Tribe is officially inducted, it means they're off the ballot & it finally opened the door for others including OutKast, Wu-Tang Clan, De La Soul etc.

4. Post punk/new wave is nowhere to be found unfortunately & I thought it would be the case for Devo alas it wasn't meant to be. Maybr next year the genres would make a return on the ballot, however let's save that discussion for another time.

5. Ozzy Osbourne is now the 27th artist to have a double induction joining the ranks of the Beatles, Eric Clapton among others.

Overall, this year isn't necessarily bad in any means it just feels lackluster. Maybe the next ballots would be better.

A Tribe Called Quest - Debatable. They officially broke up and this would have to be a one-off reunion, however they did tour at the end without Phife Dawg so it isn't ruled out as a final tribute to him and the group. They've acknowledged it on social media so at least one should be showing, so I can realistically see them performing since they are all on good terms.

Mary J Blige - Seems very excited so I think she's coming and performing. Hopefully the Diddy drama doesn't sneak up to spoil the moment

Cher - The absolute question mark. Not quite like Kate Bush since in her case it's more being reclusive and terrified of flying, here it's Cher being pissed she wasn't in earlier. She loves the spotlight and this is one of the last moments she'll truly have it, so will she cave in and perform? Historically yes.

Dave Matthews - Will be showing up to perform, they know how much this means to those diehards that really fought hard for this

Foreigner - They had one of the more blatant hall campaign in recent times and often talked about it years leading up to this. Absolutely will be showing up and performing, would be embarrassing for them not to after all that

Peter Frampton - He performed last year, of course he'll perform at his induction. It's is last big thing.

Kool & the Gang - Another hall campaigner. They'll be there to accept but will they be there to perform? As far as I know it's like Spinners, a touring group without really any original members who are being inducted. This might lead to another Spinners tribute performance instead of them performing

Ozzy - Didn't care for Sabbath, cares a bit more now but health issues will prevent any performance since he retired from that

Realistically up to 6/8 inductees might perform with Kool and Ozzy being definite nos. Even at its lowest acceptance Frampton, Foreigner, DMB, probably even MJB will 100% be locks to perform and that's a monster lineup for tickets

I'm with Shrek. Easily Boyd Tinsley. I'm a huge DMB fan but what he did was both indefensible and unforgivable. I get why he has to be inducted as he was an integral part of their most well known songs (which still sound great live without him) and most popular albums but do us all a favor rock hall and don't invite him to the ceremony.

A few people mentioned PINK! Please, please, please. She is just another Sheryl Crow. Crow doesnt belong in something that is about originality and innovation, nor does Alicia Moore. No, no, no. So many qualified women need to be put in before we even discuss her.

Patsy Cline is deserving, few more deserving.

Bjork needs to be inducted ASAP along with Salz und Pfeffer, Patsy Cline & Mariah Carey the work is now done for the women who will be inducted in 2025 the Hall of Fame can just listen to me and stop their waste of money.
