The discussion of thin Lizzy makes me wonder about blue oyster cult. Another beloved influential acclaimed 70s hard rock. More staples than Lizzy too. Both are far more acclaimed than foreigner or Frampton. Could BÖC be one of the next classic rock acts? I'd hope so cause I love them

Power,

I think thin Lizzy would do amazing with rock voters on a second shot. Although despite Phil Lynott being black, I think the majority of black voters would ignore them. The alliance of black voters seems to only extend to pop/RNB/funk/soul/rap and not rock. DMB had zero votes from black voters despite many black members.

2020 had Lizzy competing with Doobie Brothers T Rex Motörhead Soundgarden Judas Priest MC5 Pat Benatar Todd Rundgren and even NIN Depeche Mode amongst rock voters.

A ballot with only Thin Lizzy on it, or them alongside like king crimson, Thin Lizzy would soar in, a garunteed induction. Very beloved influencial acclaimed band.

Thin Lizzy might have a better chance than Motorhead and Maiden because they have two hit classic rock singles. If placed on the right ballot (where they are the only or one of two classic rock nominees, with only 1-2 classic rock acts and the rest being alternative rock nominees), they could become the inevitable choice for white boomers, allowing them to sneak in. The question is, can Tom Morello help Thin Lizzy get nominated again, considering Thin Lizzy's popularity is definitely weaker than that of Maiden and other classic rock acts?

The induction of the Dave Matthews Band makes me wonder if Iron Maiden will be voted in next time. Both acts are similar: big album sellers with almost no pop hit singles, and both have huge cult fan groups. Iron Maiden will have a big tour this year, which could help their chances. Some industry voters might consider voting for them since Maiden is expected to generate substantial revenue. However, one disadvantage for Maiden is that metal is still not favored by the Hall (Ozzy was inducted mainly due to his star power), whereas DMB, with its roots music influence, might be more acceptable to voters.
