I voted yes as the Wu had a MASSIVE effect on hip hop
They had a crazy member (Ol Dirty Bastard, who once crashed the Grammys during Shawn Colvin's acceptance speech... Look it up) Who was taken far too early (The hall of fame loves those)... I'd say when they become eligible their chances of induction is high.

Actually after chatting with my dad... I have to say no, the Wu is simply too large, and after the mess with Chicago's induction... The Wu although highly influential is unlikely because of the logistics of getting 100+ artists inducted at once... It would be a mess... Because at the end of the day Wu Tang isn't a group, it's a collective.

Michael: Considering how the process of inductees goes for the Hall of Fame, I really don't think the Hall would be racking its brain on how to induct the Wu-Tang Clan. The obvious inductees are the nine primary members (including Ol Dirty Bastard). The only question mark would be Cappadonna. The rest of their Killa Beez would probably just be seen as exhibit footnotes. Just my two cents.

I think that anything outside of music that consistently uses a guitar, drums, bass, et cetera should be excluded from a ROCK hall of fame. That is why Hip Hop isn't labelled ROCK or even a sub-genre of it. It is labelled as Pop. If you want an award hall of fame for outside of rock then make it.

Purist

If you want to bang your fists and shout and sob at the top of your lungs about non-rock artists being inducted then you’ve come to the wrong place you bigoted zealot.

I'm sorry they are waaay more worldly than a Tribe Called Quest. I love them and Missy but Wu-Tang Clan is too ICONIC to not to recognized for their greatness!

It is a complete utter embrrassment that the Greatest Rap Group of All Time is not in the rock n roll hall of fame. N.W.A is in the hall of fame and yes they took over the nation. The difference is Wu-Tang Took over the WORLD!!!!!! N.W.A IS NOT ON A WU TANG LEVEL ON THE WORLD STAGE. LETS MAKE THAT ABUNDUNTLY CLEAR!!
