Early Latin folk rock.. early 60's If not the first.. He influence many young and old musicians in his day.. Gibson Guitar thought so ! They made a very special model with a fender type head stock called the "Trini Lopez" model,, He certainly influenced Gibson Guitar,, I assume many at Gibson are musicians.. Back then, there were few artist named guitars other than Les Paul and a very few hand selected top guitar players ,

Of course, Lopez should be. With a song like " Right to Rock and Roll" and his numerous #1,#5 and top 40 Billboard & 100 country's it's a no brainier. Like to think he just slipped through the cracks before I " pull the race card" We will have to get Dave Groul of The Foo Fighters & Nirvana to help secure or spear head campaign.He plays a Trini Lopez designed Gibson guitar since the beginning & still does. We will have all the support from our Mexican superstars , but we must organize! Bob Dylan may also help as he liked Trini from the start.
His music should stand for itself, but the bureaucratic red tape is tough to cut.We need all the help possible.The bridge from protest & folk music is Trini Lopez.Songs: Lick to live in America, La Bamba,Michael Road the Boat a Shore, Lemon Tree all noted world wide hits & U.S. #1's some number 1 in 30 country's & top 10 in 100 Countys.Not to mention, his version of Mexican standards.Signed by Sinatra , the Beatles opened for Lopez & he was discovered by Buddy Holly for whom he was asked to take over for the deceased by The Crickets.This famed.Actor & Singer needs to be acknowledged.
