I love Chrissie, she's not all about the looks, she's all about the music.

Saw the Pretenders in St. Louis a couple nights ago. This was my first (and probably only) time seeing them. The guy sitting next to me had seen them six times...as early as 1982...and he told me that this will be in my Top 5 concerts of all-time. Well, it for sure made my Top 20 since I have seen over 300 acts live.

But for real, it was a high-energy show. Chrissie Hynde still moved and sounded great. She sounded exactly like she did on the records and old songs. They played all of their hits (except for one of my favorites from them, "The Adultress") and their new songs from their latest album (which were actually great). I'm actually very surprised they are still performing "My City Was Gone" after all those years of Rush Limbaugh using it. If the Pretenders are coming anywhere near you, go check 'em out!

Rest in Peace T. M. Stevens, bassist for the Pretenders for one album ("Get Close"), 1951-2024.
