The Easybeats were a lot more than just 'Friday On My Mind'. Folks do yourselves a favor and get an anthology or download 'Sorry'...'Gonna Have A Good Time Tonight',etc. A GREAT band.

The Easybeats other big claim to fame aside from "Friday On My Mind" is that George Young is the older brother of Angus & Malcolm Young of AC/DC. Both George Young and his bandmate Harry Vanda later produced AC/DC.

As a matter of fact George Young and Harry Vanda also both went on to form a band called Flash & The Pan who had a awesome song called "Hey St. Peter"

George Young is also the older brother of AC/DC's Angus & Malcolm Young.

I guess if I would've looked, someone else already mentioned that. I'm really on top of it...DUH!!!!

These guys also had a good song I don't think very many people have heard of "Hello How Are You"

Don't have a chance of getting in. They may be good, but I don't think they have a shot.

Never say never Philip. They may not have much of a chance but there's always a chance. Besides, the RRHOF only has one Australian band in it now and if they ever get a 2nd one, The Easybeats might be the best candidate.

This group only had one major single "Friday on My Mind" yet the fact that people are still discussing them 40-50 years later alone should warrant them a nomination or at least a consideration

The RRHoF has no such "quota" or affirmative action kind of deal on nationalities that get inducted. They won't be looking to have a second Australian band for the sake of having one.

Ah well. We shall see one day.

We can't get bands like The Hollies, ABBA, 3 Dog Night, America, Styx, Rush, etc. etc. in the Hall.

What have you dudes/dudettes been smoking that would make you fantasize that The Easybeats would get in?!

Supertramp has a better chance of being the next Australian band in Hall than they do. Hell, The Seekers have a better shot (and they have no shot).

Supertramp is NOT an Australian band.

George Young and Harry Vanda also wrote "Love Is In The Air" a big hit in 1978 for John Paul Young (no relation to George or his younger brothers)

Thanks, Aaron. I stand corrected. Supertramp is not an Australian band. In my previous post, please substitute 'Midnight Oil' for 'Supertramp'.

Well so much for not being able to get the Hollies and ABBA in. Three Dog Night and America MAY get in one day but I think it's a stretch. Styx won't get in (nor should they, but feel free to disagree) as for Rush, I'm not going to get THAT discussion going again...

And yeah, the Easybeats don't have much of a chance (though FRL is still giving them a decent 12% induction chance which is more than they're currently giving Chuck Willis, a man who was nominated 5 or 6 times, which is bizarre to say the least), but hey, "Friday on My Mind" will always be awesome.

Yeah, Friday On My Mind is fantastic. Even better I think is "Good Times" although they let Steve Marriott of Small Faces fame sing backing vocals and he almost steals the show.
