They finally emerged in 1966 and were the only American band to challenge The Beatles in terms of impact on the charts and in the creative field as well. Since the Beach Boys' first single, Surfin' was out in 1961, aren't the Beach Boys eligible since 1987 ? Posted by Florian on Friday, 10/25/2013 @ 10:02am |

THE BILLBOARD 200 ALBUMS CHART Posted by Roy on Tuesday, 08/12/2014 @ 14:17pm |
None of the Beach Boys studio albums ever made it to number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart anywhere. The Beach Boys had only four number one albums: 1 live album and 3 compilations. The Beach Boys had only 2 # 1 albums in the U.S.A. Chicago did better! Chicago had 5 # 1 albums in the U.S.A: 4 studio albums and 1 greatest hits album. Al Jardine voted for The Zombies, The Moody Blues….. and who else? Posted by Roy on Saturday, 12/2/2017 @ 09:12am |
Who can say, Roy? I doubt my best friends could nail down all five acts I'd vote for, so I'd be reluctant to guess how a stranger- even someone whose musical tastes are fairly on-the-record- would vote. Posted by AlexVoltaire on Saturday, 12/2/2017 @ 15:34pm |
Al Jardine turns 77 in September. Posted by Roy on Saturday, 06/1/2019 @ 20:04pm |
Bruce Johnston should be given an addendum induction by the Rock Hall. His trophy should say 1988, the year he should have been inducted, the year the Beach Boys were inducted. Steven Van Zandt should present it to him, or maybe Elton John should do it, since he was the original presenter for the Beach Boys. Posted by Roy on Monday, 06/3/2019 @ 05:11am |
So when does Bruce Johnston get a secret induction? Posted by Roy on Sunday, 07/7/2019 @ 22:25pm |

I would like to extend best wishes for a very Happy 79th Birthday to Brian Wilson. Happy Birthday Brian and thank you for all of the great songs which you have co- written over the past 60 years. Posted by Enigmaticus on Sunday, 06/20/2021 @ 22:18pm |

David Marks was an important part of their early sound. Bruce Johnston was a big reason why they were able to keep going when Brian Wilson became reclusive. David and Bruce got stiffed for no good reason. Posted by G. Poulin on Thursday, 09/21/2023 @ 09:43am |
