The story of Motown's legendary female background group...heard on many hit recordings that have sold millions of records.Should be inducted in the Musical Excellence category.

The Andantes were the backbone of Motown. Other record labels attempted to lure them away from Gordy. In addition to their blend of harmony, each was musically trained and often rewrote the music for the instrumentalists as well as created the background vocal intercessions. The group may be heard on an estimated 20,000 recordings, many of which charted in the top ten. It is way past time that the trio gets its due for the contributions to our cultural history.

Those Angelic voices was what did it for me on every single that they were featured on, and is still a sound that gives me goose bumps. I think that it is a travesty that they were not financially compensated for their contribution to the "sound of young america", a sound that made Motown record Corp millions of dollars, but left those Angels out in the cold. B.G. should be ashamed of himself, and yes they belong in the hall.

Yes, they definitely belong in the Hall, as do The Funk Brothers, Jr Walker & The All-Stars, Ashford & Simpson, Whitfield and Strong,The Spinners, The Marvelettes, Mary Wells, The Commodores...and even Rick James & The Stone City Band.
But, the "Hallowed Hall" has no interest in inducting Motown acts anymore. (Yes, The Spinners were with Motown, too...long before their stint on Atlantic) . They have no interest in inducting ANY R&B acts anymore. All they care about is Rock and Rap.
