Saw these guys Friday at Bogarts, in Cinn. About 750 there for them, alot in that place. They gave a very enjoyable performance, touring in support of their new album, so several of the songs they played were off it. That album is alot more poppy (IMO) than some of their earlier stuff, so I was a bit bummed they didn't play more of their earlier stuff.

The younger brother of the lead singer is now 2 months into being the group's bassist. He had a big grin on his face. Think these guys would do fine at most of the fests I attend. Hope they gaet the chance to do that in coming year. They are from California.

To further my previous post about hem not playing some of their earlier stuff, they did not play 'Bullet Soul'!?!?

Now go & listen to the album version of that song & then tell me you wouldn't play that song at every gig.

That's an example of why I was a tad disappointed at end of show.

I love Switchfoot. It does sometimes seem as though they are talking about a girl, but their music is SO underrated. They should go in the hall of fame. They are one of the best bands in the world, instead, there are other crappy bands that are more popular than this one.

Switchfoot will make HOF but will have to wait. How long? It will depend on how strong they finish their career. They are one of the best rock bands of this generation and like The Grateful Dead of yesteryear, they have a HUGE underground fan base. They are one of a few that prove rock is not dead. One Grammy is enough but another nod for best album would go along way to help pave the way. Plus, they need another ROCK HIT !

I love Switchfoot, but will be absolutely gobsmacked if they ever make the Hall. If they do, it will probably be after I'm dead.
