I'm going to say no, simply because they didn't do anything different from Motley Crue or Whitesnake, other than sing about Jesus. That isn't a big enough distinction.

I doubt Stryper will get inducted simply because the RHOF has avoided the entire "hair metal" genre. If Motley Crue can't get in, then I doubt any other hair metal bands will.

Stryper should be in the Hall, they are still going strong and actually still sound amazing if not better than the past. But also Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, to name a few should get in from the same ara. If Guns and Roses can get in from a few albums so should these others as well.

Stryper is very under rated simply because they sing about Christ. They are and amazing band one of the best from the 80s hair bands

STRYPER is an amazing band that gets a bad rap. They are unfortunately underrated. Michael Sweet is a supremely talented vocalist and guitarist. Their harmonies are peerless. They are way better than most other "hair bands".

I would say Stryper had plenty of influence on later Christian Metal and Rock bands. Stryper had great songs like Calling On You, Free, Honestly, To Hell With The Devil. Stryper had the distinctive black and yellow outfits. They had a good run in the 1980's and then grunge took over. When you think of Great Vocalists, Sweet is 1 of the best. Incredible power in his voice and harmony. I think they sold around 10 million albums. That's impressive considering all the popular 1980's rock and metal groups at the time. Stryper is deserving RRHOF. KING

Here is the thing with Stryper. UNLIKE other hair metal bands of the 70s, 80s, and 90s, they crossed over from a market that is closed out to NON-CHRISTIAN artist such as Crue, Priest, Jovi, and others.

Stryper with the look, sound, and talent was able to cross a barrier that others they were playing shows with could not, and would not, they sold in both markets, they chart topped in both markets.

Did they do anything innovative and new not really but what they were able to achieve they did just as well as their counterparts and influenced both Christian and Non-Christian artist alike.

If a hair metal band does deserve this honor, it would be STRYPER, for having an infulence and making a mark across both markets.
