Saw this band in Lexington. Approx 12,000 there to see them & Three Day's Grace & P.O.D. Played for over hour and a half. Wasn't very familiar with their catalog. Liked alot of their songs, once I heard them.

Lead singer looks like Joe Piscapo's kid. For a 4 man band, they put out alot of sound. Several times, the guitarists would have 2 of them around their necks as they changed from playing acoustic to electric.

Probably never get to the Hall, but they are living large & seem to be enjoying the Hell out of it.

I saw these guys a couple times yrs back when they were part of festivals and they were good performers. I get bored with their music after awhile. I like a couple of their songs but to me they are filed under 'butt-rock' and 'soccer-mom' bands. Not HOF-worthy in other words

Jason, you need to get over to the P.O.D. page & slag them too ;-)

Mind if I ask who some of your favorites are?

I'm not some nasty poster or troll or anything, & I promise not to bust your chops over any of this (I think some folks might get a little wary when asked this question).

Cheesecop, I like pretty much anything. I like everything from 50s R&B, 60s, 70s, 80s rock and some 90s. Some of the current/newer bands that I like are Arcade Fire, Beirut, Vampire Weekend, plus some of the more underground stuff as well.

You're probably questioning my tastes, and that's fine. I always tell people music was better 'back in the day'. Unfortunately there are a lot of bands (most of them getting way too much airplay) that I dislike. I really disrespect Lady Gaga. I don't like Katy Perry but I do like Ke$ha. In addition, there's a lot of bands that I dislike in what I call 'soccer-mom rock' and they are played on Adult alternative stations like Train, The Fray and a lot of bands that were cool in the 90s but have mellowed down (Goo Goo Dolls, Live). I find it very sad that alternative stations think Nickelback, Puddle of Mudd as well as some similar sounding bands think they are 'alternative' when really they are not. This is just my opinion and I don't expect anyone to agree.

Hope I answered your question.

Paul, I really dig P.O.D.. I wish some of their newer material could have gotten more airplay, and I got to see that band a decade ago at Ozzfest. It was an awesome performance and even so many hardcore metal fans were jumping up and down to their music.

Not questioning, so much as inquiring. That's all.

I agree w/you fully on the "soccer-mom" music, for what it's worth, as well as some of the pop out there today.

Jason, just joking around a bit with my comment. Want you to be truthful here. If you hate 3 Day Grace or dislike Shinedown, no problem with me. You (and I) like what we like. :-)

Wish you had got to see the P.O.D. set. I wish they had played a longer set.

These guys stand a good chance of getting into the hall of fame. As of 2015, all their singles have gone top-5 on the Modern Rock charts.

The band revealed that they attempted to find ways to still do the tour, but that the health concerns for all involved were simply too much for them to stage it at this time. I heard the news from

These comments are laughable in 2022! For anyone here in the way past saying shinedown wouldn't make it to the HOF you are rock illiterate! Shine down had done enough with 45 and simple man to join the rock HOF they are american icons! And with sound of madness, cut the cord, save me, monster and the whole attention attention album! They are legends in the rock game. They have been life changing for many of us! And their new album planet zero out. Shinedown is most certainly hall of fame worthy and bio pic film movie worthy! They are in the top 5 rock bands in the first two decades of the new millennium!

I used to think not but Brent is an amazing singer and they get better and better. Along with Lifehouse and seether they all will get in

First time I saw Shinedown was back in 2003, they opened for 3 Doors Down. They were AMAZING and left me disappointed in the main act. Brent Smith has a voice like no other out there today. If Shinedown was around in the 60's-70's they'd have been right up there with the Door's, Rolling Stones and Aerosmith, with that voice - think what their music would've been like. I'll be seeing them for the 4th time this spring and looking forward to it.

30 hits charted in the top 5 (by the way, that's EVERY SINGLE they've ever released) and 20M+ units sold

Not sure what you have to do to be "HoF worthy" if that doesn't do it...

Saw shinedown at a music fest. They headlined. Wasn't familiar with them. They blew me away. Great songs. Great energy. Brent Smith's voice is unique and powerful. I think the Rock Hall is a sham. That being said, they will put a disco act in before Shinedown. Who gives a shit? I'll never spend my money there.
