The Purple People Eater should be an essential song.

Brian,
It was inducted earlier this month in the song project via the genre selection. It hasn't been updated since it's induction happened last week. You keep posting that "this song should an essential song" and "that song should inducted." Here's a solution: participate in the upcoming song project vote at the beginning of November (nominations for the next one begins on November 1st). Voters can nominate 2 General Nominations (anything from 1900-2014) and 1 optional nomination from 2015. It's fun and we nominate a wide variety of songs from various trends/genres/styles every month. Please come join us, we're always looking for more voters!!!

Sheb Wooley was a one-hit wonder. His one hit was "Purple People Eater."
