Crazy if she is not inducted. Long overdue.

The fact that Patsy Cline has never been nominated is one of the biggest reasons I question the competency of nominating committee to judge who should be considered for the Hall.

Patsy Cline is icon on the same level of Elvis and Johnny Cash. She is the benchmark for which women in Country are measured. This group includes such crossover artist as Emmylou Harris, Sheryl Crow and Linda Ronstadt.

To understand how Patsy Cline was an influence to all women across genres in the music industry, you have to be aware of societal and music industry attitudes of women in the late 50's and early 60's. In an era when men were the headliners and women were the window dressing on the side, Patsy Cline was a headliner. She played on the same field as the boys and held her own.

1999 - #11 on VH1's 100 Women of Rock and Roll

1992 - honored with a US postal stamp

1999 - Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

2005 - listed in the "Guinness Book of World Records for having the record for the most weeks on the US Charts for an album by a female artist (of all genre): 722 weeks total, with 251 of them at # 1, with 'Patsy Cline's Greatest Hits' "

It should also be noted that over the decades after her death, Patsy Cline has charted with numerous releases.

country to the bone, her influence was country AND never sounded like rock...

Crazy and Sweet Dreams wasn't comparable to Can't Help Falling in Love With You by Elvis or True Love Ways by Buddy Holly? Both of those are considered Rock and Roll.

Her influence was on every single woman in the music industry that came after her, not just country. Women were not considered headliners until she came along. This was back in the day when women could not get a loan without their husband.

Many assume Patsy Cline is already in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. With Brenda Lee's Induction, I thought Patsy would come next. What a disappointment! Her music is just as relevant today as it was when she was alive.
