Melissa Etheridge has made significant contributions as a singer/songwriter as well as a performer. She is a consummate professional who has inspired many young aspiring artists. Her music moves many and her performances are electric. I would love to see Melissa inducted to the rock and roll hall of fame. After all, she was there for the opening of the museum, as was I, and I would gladly return to see her plaque on the wall.

Sincerely,
Tracy Albright

What makes a musician really good… Someone that's authentic in their art… Someone true to themselves… A musician who write their own songs… Singing their own songs and doing it for more than 30 years… THAT in my eyes is the best musicians of all times… Melissa Etheridge is magic… She is the most honest musician I have ever seen. She writes her soul into music. She is humble… She have a great voice!!! She also promote Rock and Roll and Soul Music...

Now did you know…
Elvis Presley never wrote a Single Song in his life… He is considered the King of Rock and Roll...

Now after this realization...
I can not understand why Melissa Etheridge has not been inducted in the Hall of Fame...

Melissa should already be in the R&RHOF.

-She is enjoying her more than 30 year career with new fans discovering her every day.

-She is innovative to say the least. In this current pandemic, Melissa has found a way to connect with her fans, 5 times per week and continue to be a thriving artist and entertainer. Subscriptions to her Etheridge TV streaming channel are allowing her to connect with fans, sing, play and entertain while many other artists have done nothing of the sort. She uses a looper and incorporates the many instruments she is able to play such as the bass, drums, keyboards, harmonica and of course her many guitars. Her music crosses so many genres: blues, rock, soul, country, pop and even a little classical and contemporary.

-She's knocked down barriers of sexuality and has been a positive role model for LGBTQ people with her message of love and truth.

-Her music is timeless, energetic, and soulful. And that voice!!! WOW! But above all, she is a genuine person, and she ROCKS my socks off!

Please consider nominating Melissa to be inducted. She really should be in already.

Sincerely,

Kris

Dionne Warwick is getting in yet Melissa Etheridge is not. Why? Melissa embodies what rock and roll is. Plus she has every requirement needed to get in and then some. An Oscar along with Grammy awards and many other accolades. I just would like to know why? It's not right.

Melissa should have been inducted long ago, for all the reasons already listed. No visits to the Hall of Fame for me until I can see her name there.

I think that over-reliance on your listed criteria above, which are based on the assessments of other groups (and which were clearly developed retrospectively, not de novo) perpetuates historical biases in rock and roll and in the music industry, and has led to to induct people who meet the criteria but are only loosely associated with rock and roll.

Melissa Etheridge has won 2 Grammy's, (nominated for 15) an Oscar, ASCAP Songwriter Of The Year, and a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023. Last year she had a successful run on Broadway and has influenced so many artists, including Taylor Swift. This from a 35 year career which is still active. She has also been heavily involved with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, inducting Janis Joplin in 1995 and Bonnie Raitt in 2000, performing at both, and also being at the opening concert of the RRHOF. In 2022 she was interviewed for The Go-Go's induction. How can someone who's done so much for the RRHOF then be snubbed when it's their turn?
She has done tireless work for the LGBT community and Breast Cancer Awareness, and is a role model for thousands.
Melissa is such an underrated artist and should be recognised as the trailblazer she is. It is time
