at 80 plus years of age mr jimmy cavallo is the hit of syracuse ny's Italian festa with his great singing of anything, italian, rock, popular, blues or patriotic songs and his terrific saxophnoe renditions. the fans come and come whenever cavallo journeys up from florida back to his hometown. he is an all around entertainer with rocking roots. he is an original and is deserving of hall of fame recognition.

Hmmm...maybe as an early influence. They were the first white act to appear at the Apollo Theatre in New York, and were kind of a favorite of Alan Freed, but I don't know that they had that much impact. They were every bit as good as Bill Haley & the Comets (IMO), but Bill Haley got all the press.

It helped back then to "be in the right place at the right time"....

jimmy cavallo deserves the hall of fame...84 yrs old and still blowing every act off the stage. he was the first to do jump blues and still the last to be still on stage...he's a monster on stage...

Amen Chuck! Jimmy Cavallo is still alive, kicking, and puting out great recordings. At 80+ years young, he is performing with the energy of a man half his age. Unlike Jerry Lee Lewis, Jimmy DOES NOT sound or sing like an old, feeble man. It is almost beyond belief. Check out his recordings on CD Baby. Also the Blue Wave output. Great stuff that is not dated one bit. At the very least, Jimmy deserves to be recognized as a pioneer.
