Ivory Joe has a chance to be inducted in the Early Influence category, and while it would only serve to blur the lines a bit, it would be a defensible position to take.

We are honoring Ivory Joe with a historical marker early next year. It will be in Monroe, La. on The North East Louisiana Music Trail!

A marker on The Northeast Louisiana Music Trail honoring Ivory Joe Hunter will be unveiled on Feb. 17th, 2024 at The African-American Music Trail in Monroe, Louisiana where he made his home for 30 plus years, and where he wrote many of his well know songs.
