Rest in Peace Helen Reddy, 1941-2020. Posted by Joe on Wednesday, 09/30/2020 @ 10:49am |
Helen was a big star back in the mid 70s. One of the voices of my youth. Mac Davis died same day as her. Posted by Paul in KY on Wednesday, 09/30/2020 @ 11:07am |

Helen Reddy, Voice of the Feminist Anthem 'I Am Woman,' Dies at 78 Posted by Roy on Wednesday, 09/30/2020 @ 17:47pm |
Favorite Helen Reddy song,(R.I.P.) would be "Angie Baby", which hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in December of 1974. Written by Alan O'Day, Helen delivers haunting type vocals about a young girl who is either mentally gifted or mentally ill, or maybe both. Posted by Will N. on Wednesday, 09/30/2020 @ 20:15pm |
First of all, I would like to extend my most sincere belated condolences to the family and friends of Helen Reddy on her recent passing at the age of 78. The recent passing of Helen Reddy, who co-wrote the feminist anthem and more specifically, the lyrics to 'I Am Woman' may help to become a catalyst for the push for more female nominees and inductees into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. As a business man, I know very well what the Rock Hall's consumers want. I'm glad that one-hit wonder band, Radiohead didn't made it at first year in favor of Bon Jovi who are big enough to draw real crowds. This is the Hall of FAME, not the Hall of the Niche. Hugely successful artist, anyone who was around in the 70s couldn't avoid her, whatever you thought. I Am Woman alone should get her in. Posted by Ted on Sunday, 07/25/2021 @ 13:10pm |

I don't understand why Helen Reddy isn't in the Rock and Roll hall of fame, but then again I'm not surprised , when I have seen some inducted that I believe shouldn't, this woman's music helped changed history, it's sad she hasn't already been inducted…..
