Go West

01. Peter Cox (vocals)
02. Richard Drummie (guitar, vocals)

British Sophisti-pop, dance, blue-eyed soul. They wrote all their own material. Their hits included, We Close Our Eyes, Call Me, Eye To Eye, Don't Look Down, King of Wishful Thinking, Faithful, and a remake of Bobby Caldwell's What You Won't Do For Love, and the Miracles Tracks of My Tears. That's right, I said the Miracles. They produced four studio albums between 1985 and 1992: Go West, Bangs and Crashes, Dancing on the Couch and Indian Summer.

1992's Indian Summer is one of my all-time favorite albums, and their best album. A great album to make-out to as well. I couldn't have gotten through 8th grade without this album. Check it out. King of Wishful Thinking from the 1989-1990 Pretty Woman soundtrack is on here as a bonus.

Their first three albums were crap! Really annoying! Their fourth album though was a true gem.

Indian Summer is still in print in the UK, but not in the U.S. It's not on iTunes in the states. I don't know about the UK, but it is available on Amazon uk.

They wrote all their songs. Missing Persons is my favourite track from the 1985 Go West album. Bangs and Crashes from 1986 was a remix album with different versions of the songs from their first album.

Indian Summer

From Entertainment Weekly

Posted December 18 1992 — 12:00 AM EST

The buffed and burnished voice of Peter Cox, half of the Go West British duo, has some character, but too many woozy saxophone interludes and cheesy synth blasts cancel it out. Indian Summer is overslick, faceless soul, its sound stretched taut — more proof that liposuction never improves R&B, since it’s the love handles that make it work. C-

I disagree!! Indian Summer is a 5-STAR album! A+

Indian Summer is the fourth and best album by Go West. Indian Summer was recorded between 1989 and 1992. It was released in October of 1992. It is the most successful Go West album to date, selling over 4 million copies worldwide. Indian Summer had two different album covers: a European version and an American version. Both versions had the same thirteen songs. The album was released by Chrysalis in Europe, and by EMI in America. While recording the Indian Summer album, one of the tracks from the album was chosen to be used for the 1990 Pretty Woman movie and soundtrack. As a result, The King Of Wishful Thinking was released as a single two years before the release of Indian Summer, and it went on to become a top ten hit for Go West. Faithful, and What You Won’t Do For Love, were the other two singles from Indian Summer, released in 1992 and 1993.

Go West's fourth album "Indian Summer" was four years in the making when it was finally released in 1992. The King Of Wishful Thinking was included on "Indian Summer" because that was the album it was originally intended for, even though it was used in 1989-1990 for the Pretty Woman movie and soundtrack. Indian Summer is one of the greatest POP albums ever produced. You really need to check it out on iTunes. Get the physical CD too, lyrics included, awesome album artwork. Indian Summer rules!
