11 comments so far (post your own)Im no music expert but you can't deny gary lewis had multiple hits. One evan nocked a Beatles song out of a number one billboard spot. Plus he's doing concerts today ! Compare this to some of the " sorry" members of the hall of fame and its ridiculous that he and the playboys aren't members of the rock n roll hall of fame ! Yes, this group should be in the rock and roll hall of fame. They had multiple hits and although their music was a bit soft they definitely were very successful. I was a teenager during the day and enjoyed the rhythm to their songs. Listened on utube last night and brought back a lot of fun teenage times Posted by ian Phillips on Sunday, 10/11/2020 @ 12:21pm |

FYI they are only one of two artists that had their first seven songs in the Billboard top 10; the other was the Lovin Spoonful. Posted by Randy Varnadore on Saturday, 01/9/2021 @ 15:48pm |
Underrated and hampered by his father and HIS fame, Gary Lewis nonetheless cornered the market on teen angst and young love with his and his Playboy band's blend of rock -n-roll harmonies and melodies for a generation during the mid 1960's era of music. I'm 67.. and in the '60s I used to pick beans in the summer.. and someone will always bring a radio.. and Jerry Lewis and the Playboys made working as a kid a lot easier.. find a simple they're a great band and they're still around.. Dolly Parton's in the Rock and roll Hall of Fame but not Jerry Lewis and the Playboys or Grand funk are BTO.. there's something wrong plain and simple.. great music deserves recognition.. and the Rock and roll Hall of Fame it's a political game and that's a shame hey I just wrote a top 40 song..
