Another song that should be an essential song.

The rock and roll hall of fame seems to put progressive rock bands at the back of the queue. Along with the fact they're Dutch (i.e. not American or British), these two factors will go against them. Superb band, though. Jan Akkerman was one of the premiere prog rock guitarists of his day.

Why are they not in yet?

Perhaps the Rock Hall finds yodeling to be annoying?

In my honest opinion, Focus is much too obscure of a prog band for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. Just think of how long it took for the "holy trinity" of prog (Rush, Yes and The Moody Blues) to be inducted and those three bands are very popular, hugely influential and extremely important to a variety of musical genres. Neither Jethro Tull, nor King Crimson, nor Emerson Lake & Palmer, nor Supertramp, nor Kansas, nor Duran Duran have yet been inducted.

Well, what do you think?

Who says Rush, Yes & The Moody Blues are the Holy Trinity of prog? I've never heard that before. The Moody Blues weren't even really a thoroughbred progressive band.

For what it's worth, Focus and "Hocus Pocus" were the subject of a scene in episode 7 of Martin Scorsese's show VINYL, about a fictional record label in the 1970s - they had a hit with the song - but didn't know what to do with it - or something like that.
