Listen all his songs, then Hall of Fame realize that all you need to induct is His unique music touching all over the world.

Remember his work with the Raspberries as well. That's a big contribution to power pop, and even people like Bruce Springsteen and Slash were influenced by their records. Wally Bryson, their lead guitarist, already associated with people like Townshend. When Eric Carmen went solo, he showed us more of his great talent. It was incredible songs that soaked such meaning just by listening to the music, not the vocals. You felt the message and emotions. All By Myself is a perfect example. Scored on the charts many times. I'm sure people like Burton Cummings, Bruce Johnston, Andrew Gold (if still alive), and Jeff Porcaro would say something.

Eric Carmen, along with Barry Manilow and Billy Joel, who is already in the Hall, is one of very few singer-songwriters who vie for the title of "America's Elton John." He is very worthy of the honor, not only because of having charted 20 hit records as a soloist and with the Raspberries, but because his work has been so often covered. His hits almost double when you consider all of them, such as covers by Celine Dion ("All By Myself") and Shaun Cassidy. The inclusion of his big hits (like "Hungry Eyes") into Dirty Dancing and Guardians of the Galaxy only further immortalizes his work. And Manilow also needs to be in the Hall, by the way!

Definitely deserves hall of fame recognition - and it's located in his home town of Cleveland. "Go All the Way" by the Raspberries, which he wrote and sang, is itself one of the greatest R&R songs ever. And he wrote many others.

Eric Carmen is one of the Greatest Cleveland performers in History! He should be inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame ASAP! Why isn't he ALREADY??? The man is a LEGEND and a TRUE Artist of his time! He has been disrespected and Deserves it more than most musicians I've listened to, a Cleveland native, and great stage performer. I've never met him, but Eric Carmen has certainly deserved a Hall of Fame ceremony! A truly great performer that spans the decades!

Eric Carmen should have been inducted years ago with his former band The Raspberries because of their body of work and how much they influenced so many new musicians.
Then, he should have been inducted as a solo artist shortly after becoming eligible for the same reasons.
But because the people in charge of the rock and roll hall of fame have their heads up their asses and don't know real talent when they see it, this never happened.
Look at this year's inducutees: out of the five who were picked by the fans, only one of them will be inducted (The Doobie Brothers), while others like Pat Benatar, Judas Priest and the others were snubbed for Whitney Houston and others less deserving.
These travesties must end and allow more deserving artists to be inducted instead.

The rock 'n' roll Hall of Fame is all about politics. There are people in the Hall with only two or three albums. Look how long it took them to put Deep Purple in the Hall.
With what he did with the Raspberries and solo career there is no question why he shouldn't be in the Hall of Fame.

Eric Carmen is a great influence on rock music. When major pop singers use his songs for their shows and his songs have been included in movies that is all you have to know. Shame that he has not been placed in the rock& roll hall of fame.

I'm in the UK and disgusted that Eric Carmen is not in the Hall of fame he certainly deserves it. Ok he made a mistake with the DUI situation where is the compassion from natives of Ohio!!! We all deserve second chances. People in glass houses?? I think he is lovely a kind person, he didn't kill or hurt anyone and served 30 days. What do you want blood? Take care Eric there are people who genuinely appreciate and love you. A very avid fan of forty something years. X

It's really a shame that Eric Carmen has been ignored by both the RHOF and the songwriters hall of fame. The man is an absolute genius! He can rock out with the best of them. He proved that with his five year tenure with the Raspberries and his solo career. His ballads are amazing and absolutely beautiful. If you don't believe it listen to his Born to love you cd. It is timeless.!!!! His duis have no bearing on his immense talent. Want to go through the personal lives of all the people already on the HOF and see their arrest records for drugs and DWIS? Do the right thing and at least nominate Eric and his fans will do the rest just like we moody blues fans did in 2018! Rant over…

I agree! Eric should have been inducted into the HOF years ago. He made a HUGE impact on the whole Pop Rock scene in the 70's. Best music ever! And he's a hometown boy on top of it.

Come on HOF....Give Eric (and the Raspberries) their due in 2024!

Eric sang the first song on our first date and we've been fans ever since, been together almost 54 years.
Hope he gets the recognition he has deserved for many years. The three major television networks paid tribute to his talent today.
