He's wasn't a Rock & Roller, but indeed he was talented, very creative and very influential to many rock & roll bands today.

I never understood why Bob was inducted as a solo artist. Are the wailers chopped liver or something?

I feel they were trying (either knowingly or subconsciously) to keep extra brothers out of the Hall.

They (the Wailers) absolutely deserve induction!

You're saying you think it was a race based decision to keep the wailers out?

Posted by Steelydanfan on Saturday, 09/5/2020 @ 12:18pm

Probably subconsciously. Several very differently looking & thinking people being ushered into the Hall as full members. The Wailers are as deserving as many, many other mostly white dudes who where essentially the backing band of the transcendent talent they played with.

Just a conjecture on my part.

Yes, they're equally as worthy as Jimi Hendrix 's "Experience" members, who both got inducted.

For the ignorant who think that they should not enter this hall of rock and r & b artists in general with all its derivatives because rock and roll began that way in the 50s, Bob marley's reggeae it's a mix of r & b soul with jamaican rhythms

Rest in Peace Bunny Wailer, percussionist, 1947-2021.

General Colin Powell had interesting, and eclectic, taste in music. And he never forgot his Jamaican roots. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVJ-9fmw2NQ

Bob Marley shouldn't have been inducted without The Wailers. Bob was never a solo act, except with his first couple of recordings as a teenager in the early 1960s. The Wailers propelled Bob's music, so it's an insult that they were excluded. That being said, Bob Marley doesn't need to be in that useless RRHOF to be a musical icon and prophet. It would actually be better had he not been inducted, because he's really too big for the RRHOF and he's peerless. Fela, Bob Marley, and the Psalmist, King David of Israel, stand on their own.
