4 comments so far (post your own)He belongs in the Rock Hall. Marvelous soul singer with a unique style. He could make any song his own. He was only 32 when he died. He was at his peak but cut short when he died in a car accident crossing a bridge over the Neuse River in 1970. 50 years ago, I don't think that stretch of road was part of I-95 yet. Billy Stewart's recording of the Gershwin classic 'Summertime' alone should be worth induction into this institution. Posted by Tony Anthony on Saturday, 07/3/2021 @ 14:09pm |
He should have been in Hall of Fame long ago guess it doesn't matter he's been deceased long ago Posted by anoymous on Wednesday, 01/5/2022 @ 13:20pm |
Wow, Billy Stewart, is an extraordinary talent, he should have been put into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame before many of the artists that are in there now: Janet Jackson, Cheap Trick, Alice Cooper, Peter Gabriel, Kiss, Earl Palmer, Ringo Starr, etc... This man was a force of talent and a major performer. Don't worry Billy, your fans remember your incredible music, you, and your voice will live on forever. Rock solid! A true original, not a fabricator! Posted by Joe Kenney on Monday, 07/18/2022 @ 06:49am |
