Why has no one written anything about Ariel Pink? Probably the most influential artist in 2010s lofi rock. He's obviously influenced artists like MGMT and Mac Demarco.

Ariel Pink is an American multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter whose music draws heavily from 1970s–1980s pop radio and cassette culture. His lo-fi aesthetic and home-recorded albums proved influential to many indie artists in the late 2000s, and he is frequently cited as "godfather" of the hypnagogic pop and chillwave movements. - from Wikipedia

This guy is probably the architect of the 2010's obsession with lofi hypnogogic music. Weird as it is, you can't deny it's a genre that will be remembered fondly in 20 to 30 years from now. His unique style did influence other artists like MGMT, Empire of the Sun, Jack Stauber, John Maus. etc

...Oh and Julian Casablanca's The Voidz too. Pretty much inspired by Ariel Pink's experimentations.
