Saw this band at Bonnaroo. They were the opening act on What Stage for Paul McCartney. I don't know if the State Dept. got to Jeff Tweedy & said 'we want Mr. McCartney to have everyone saying his set was best, so try to suck during yours', and he complied.

You know how when an act starts up a song & there is a roar from the crowd as they recognize the hit? Well, there were no roars during their set. When the sound guys got out there to begin setting up for Paul McCartney, that got a bigger roar than anyting Wilco did.

Spoke afterwards to a fan (wearing Wilco teeshirt, etc) and said 'Is is fair to say that if you were looking at Wilco's greatest hits, there were alot of them they did not play'. He said 'they left alot on the table'. I don't think they played 'I'm the Man who Loves You'.

Saw this band headline Sat. night at LouFest. Probably biggest crowd of weekend for them.

Definitely had a better set than at Bonnaroo. Played more of their hits. Music generally is not the type that gets crowd into a frenzy. I was tired (had drove 200 miles that day & was worn out by heat, etc.), so I left about 2/3 through set.

It might just be that I'm not that much into Wilco.

Paul: I had never heard of LouFest, but the line up looked great! Did you get a chance to see Trampled By Turtles? I have been a big fan for almost 2 years now and they are on my list of acts to see.

Hey Gassman! I did see Trampled by Turtles & I would have written about it if there was a page at FRL for Trampled by Turtles. Also saw great sets by Fitz & the Tantrums, Space Capone, Walk the Moon, Icona Pop (all of which do not have page at FRL).

They played a great set Sat. afternoon (when it was very hot). Crowd loved them. Was my 2nd time seeing them (saw them at Bonnaroo 2 years ago). Hopefully, they will play ROMP next year (that festival is Bluegrass heaven).

Hope you get to see them sometime.

A.M. and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot: play them while driving in your car. A.M. includes fave "Casino Queen" as well as "Passenger Side" (listen while driving!). You can sing along to most of the album. Likewise, YHF has mamy good ones beyond "I'm the Man Who Loves You." Try "Heavy Metal Drummer." Their writing can be droll and hilarious and still sentimental. Plus work on the Mermaid Avenue (Woody Guthrie lyrics). Plus go back to Uncle Tupelo -- already eligible! Won't get picked as "obscure" group.

Wilco are one of the most influential and innovative indie groups of all time. I expect the to make it in the next decade.

Silly that Wilco never ever saw the cover of Rolling Stone. A great discography; a bigger fan base then given credit for and an influential front man. Hope they get in soon.

Just came from R&R HoF and unless I missed it, no mention of Wilco!?
Son Volt and Uncle Tupelo were.
