Likely none of them.

Marilyn Manson is one of the true rock stars of the 1990's and early 2000's. Yes he has faded a bit but his music now is more artistic than ever. In reality the guy and the band is iconic. Now that Alice Cooper is in, the way should be paved for MM. He may not be a first balloter, but I think his ticket is already punched. There are few bands currently still making music now that I would say that about (that are not already in).

Great music but Marilyn Manson also has somewhat of transcended the rock scene. Go ask someone random on the street if they know who Marilyn Manson is and they will likely at least heard of him (and probably detest him if they are a Sunday church goer). You can't buy iconic status like that!

Is he considered tame by today's standards? Yes. However, when Marilyn Manson hit it big during the 90's on MTV, people were astonished and mortified, or otherwise rocking out along with him. Marilyn Manson was willing to say and do things that other artists at the time were much too afraid to try, and opened the doors creatively and stylistically for a lot of other bands today. While he might not have kept up with his initial burst into the music scene, everyone remembers who he is and what he's done. Besides the fact that The Beautiful People is awesome, his covers of Tainted Love and Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) are iconic in their own right. I'm not the biggest Manson fan, but I recognize the impact he has made on mainstream society and in Rock and Roll as a whole, and on that level, he completely deserves to be inducted.

If you look past the weirdness and shock factor, and just focus on the music, there's no question that Marilyn Manson should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The music and ability to collaborate with many artist is just phenomenal.

It would be a travesty if Marilyn Manson doesn't get in! What he accomplished during the "Triptych" era (Antichrist Superstar, Mechanical Animals, and Holy Wood) should be enough to land him in the Hall of Fame!

Manson is a strange dude , but belongs without a doubt in The H.O.F. when his time comes

From a religious standpoint, i can't stand him

From a music standpoint, yes to the HOF, he's a vary talented musician, singer and songwriter, his influence on rock and pop culture is undeniable, he's a legend no matter how much i detest his religious views

If you listen to ...Manson you'll notice that the music is real. This music cut the edge in its time. And the acceptance ceremony will probably be a once in a lifetime experience!

Have your Detroit tickets on stand by...

After hearing news about him recently, the Hall might be keeping him off right now, especially with the ongoing "Me Too" movement. Get woke, go broke!

Looks like he's never going to get in now, which is great. Just a knockoff Alice Cooper that should've stopped making music years ago.

It's ok he sucks anyways. Good riddance.

I think he will still get in just for the fact of how inescapable he was in the late 90's and early 00's. There are musicians far outside of rock and metal that look at Manson as a major influence even to this day and he is one of the last metal artists to have that level of impact. The recent allegations made against him will only push back his nomination and induction but it won't kill it like how some people have assumed (the rock hall inducted Tupac in 2017 during the height of the me too movement despite his rape conviction) The band is iconic and has produced one of the biggest guitar legends (John 5) of the last 20 years, Manson is integral to understanding the mall goth scene, the 90's satanic panic, and the discrimination against goths and metalheads after Columbine. Despite who he is as a person he is a major part of the story of rock and roll during the band's height

He may now be in the 'banned for life' situation like Motley Crue.

MM mastered the Shock Rock genre in the late '90s, early '00s. They left listeners and watchers agape for 10 years. 2 reasons for serious consideration: 1. Their sensational videos and lyrics set the standard for "acceptable" MTV outrageousness, 2. Dope Show and Beautiful People. (Although a great version, I don't count Sweet Dreams bc it's a cover). If you want to keep him out of the hall bc of his abuse allegations, I get it. But, the list of HoFers is replete with violent artists. If influence, contribution, sales, and pure gut wrenching Rock & Roll are the criteria, MM has to be in. BD

This may be an abandoned thread, but here we are at the end of 2023. So the criteria is "recognition in musical excellence". Alice Cooper is now in the RRHOF, and unfortunately KISS. If those bands made it, then there's no reason for Marilyn Manson to not be considered, aside from the sexual abuse allegations, but towards Manson himself.
I was never a fan of just Marilyn Manson the person. But Marilyn Manson was once the name that represented a BAND as well as him. It was the BAND I was a fan of. My first taste of MM was seeing the Dopehat video on MTV in 1995. I saw a guy in dreads and wearing a dress, and his name was Twiggy Ramirez. I was a huge fan and admirer of Twiggy. His look, but also his metal riffs and ability to write FIERCE metal. Then there was Daisy Berkowitz, whose guitar work and solos had a distinction to where when you hear "Sweet Dreams" in your head, you hear his guitar along with Mansons voice. There was Madonna Wayne Gacy, who showed his talents shine especially on Mechanical Animals. And there was Ginger Fish, an extremely underrated drummer and in the background, but was the drummer throughout the bands peak and best records.
Should Marilyn Manson be inducted as the man? No. Should Marilyn Manson be inducted as the band? YES! Naturally comes the next question. As there were so many members and lineups, which one should end up there? My personal view is it should be the Smells like Children/Antichrist Superstar Era. Manson, Ramirez, Berkowitz, Gacy and Fish, seeing as that was the lineup that broke them into the mainstream. But then again, The Mechanical Animals-Holywood lineup with John 5 lasted 4 years (the longest stable lineup), and John 5 was a very good contributor and asset to that band, so he kind of earned an induction spot too. But Marilyn, Twiggy, Daisy, Madonna Wayne and Ginger were the most significant members
