17 comments so far (post your own)Layla was released under Derek and the Dominos, not Eric Clapton! Why the hell aren't they in yet? Give Eric Clapton a fourth induction and Duane Allman a second induction. Posted by Roy on Monday, 03/4/2013 @ 23:16pm |

I think that Duane Allman was never technically a member of the Dominoes. I know he is all over the album, but he was a guest invited to play. Although, he is largely responsible for why that album is so vital. Posted by Dezmond on Sunday, 03/17/2013 @ 10:50am |
I don't think D&TD should get inducted because they only had one song Posted by Karl Singleton on Tuesday, 02/18/2014 @ 17:38pm |
Should Derek and the Dominos be inducted in the Musical Excellence category or should they be nominated in the main performers category? Posted by Roy on Sunday, 01/24/2016 @ 17:11pm |
Should they be nominated or go in the Musical Excellence category? Posted by Roy on Saturday, 07/7/2018 @ 13:09pm |
The new songs category is the best fit for them. Clapton doesn't need a 4th induction. Posted by Follower on Saturday, 07/7/2018 @ 16:06pm |
No to Clapton getting in a fourth time. I love the man, but for f**k's sakes. Posted by Gary on Friday, 01/4/2019 @ 17:23pm |
All I can say is listen to the Fillmore recordings - besides Layla - got to get better in a little while is amazing plus bell bottom blues and why does love got to be so sad might be better than Layla. Oh, and what I think is funny Because Badge is included with Cream and put on the lady album but was written and influenced by not only George Harrison but members of Delaney & Bonnie which in effect go on to be Eric sorry. Derek and the Dominos. Just a plus but they were so good that Derek Trucks. Is named after the band. Posted by Jon Berger on Wednesday, 02/26/2020 @ 00:23am |
Layla is a Hall of Fame album but this is not a hall of fame band. Posted by David Allan on Thursday, 03/5/2020 @ 14:24pm |
One album is not enough for the hall of fame. Eric Claption was already inducted 3 times. Posted by Fifi on Saturday, 12/26/2020 @ 17:39pm |
Clapton is in enough. Posted by David on Wednesday, 02/24/2021 @ 10:16am |
Derek and the Dominos had awesome talent, came together on a whim and created a rock album that is stacked with incredible songs. The folks commenting on this thread cite one song which tells you all you need to know about their limited knowledge. Posted by Dave on Friday, 06/11/2021 @ 17:59pm |
Without two people in the Hall the building is a joke, 1) Bobby Whitlock and 2) Gram Parsons. Until then, the Hall of Fame is a popularity contest for snobs. The major crime is people like Eric Clapton are not pushing for Bobby Whitlock and Keith Richards not pushing for Gram Parsons is sad. Posted by Nick Mattioni on Thursday, 07/29/2021 @ 06:55am |
The problem for Mr. Parsons is that just about everybody who knew him disliked him. Posted by Paul in KY on Thursday, 07/29/2021 @ 07:53am |
Rest in Peace Jim Gordon (Derek and the Dominos drummer), 1945-2023. Posted by Joe S. on Thursday, 03/16/2023 @ 00:42am |
